Job Description:

Summary

The Electrical Engineer will be part of the Engineering team to design high-quality solar PV systems and coordinate bids. This position will be working with our Bidding Team during the preliminary phase of studies as well as our Construction Team during the execution phase of projects.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly analyze the specifications, scope of work, drawings, other RFP documents and develop a complete understanding of the RFP requirements.

• Electrical design for PV and wind project, following client requirements and specifications aiming for optimizing budget and schedule.

• Manage third party electrical partners in development of electrical drawings and designs. Review drawings and electrical studies and ensure the correct application of the electrical code.

• Coordinate with main equipment suppliers and review drawings for compliance with electrical codes.

• Coordinate with civil and structural engineering drawings to ensure the feasibility of the system.

• Review project information such as specification and contracts for achieving technical competitive proposals.

• Assessment of different electrical design alternatives to come up with the best solution.

• Conducts field visits to gather relevant data on project site conditions, adjusting this information to deliver the most competitive bid proposal.

• Coordinates with suppliers and subcontractors and reviews quotations.

• Provide technical support during interconnection. Ensure drawings are in accordance with utility requirements.

• Develop technical specifications and scopes of work for engineering firms, suppliers, and subcontractors.

• Review drawings provided by team members and feedback on electrical scope and pricing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree. (Electrical or Energy Engineering preferred).
• Strong Electrical Engineering fundamentals
• Five years of relevant experience in Energy Sector (Power generation preferred).
• Three years of experience in basic and detailed PV Design, build, or EPC field.
• Experience in LV, MV, and High voltage design & coordination.
• Experience in Utility interconnection design and coordination (highly desired)
• Experience in electrical estimating practices and methods.
