The Sr. Director of Cardiology and Operations is a senior leader responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial performance of ArchWell Health’s cardiology service line across all markets.This leader serves as the operational partner to cardiology clinical leadership, supporting the development and scaling of a high-performing cardiology program through data-driven decision making, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. The role is responsible for evaluating performance, utilization trends, access, quality outcomes, and care delivery effectiveness across markets to drive continuous improvement and support value-based care objectives. In addition to cardiology responsibilities, this leader may provide operational leadership for enterprise initiatives and organizational improvement efforts as assigned.
This role also provides enterprise-wide oversight for workforce planning and program growth, partnering with market operators and executive leadership to ensure outstanding clinical outcomes, member satisfaction, and sustainable growth.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Â
- Develop and execute a multi-market cardiology strategy focused on growth, access, quality, member experience, and operational performance.
- Partner with cardiology physician leadership in a collaborative operating model to establish priorities, improve program performance, and execute strategic initiatives across markets.
- Analyze cardiology utilization patterns, referral trends, diagnostic testing volumes, and market performance data to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, quality outcomes, member experience, and total cost of care.
- Collaborate with market operational and clinical leaders to address performance variation, develop market-specific improvement plans, and drive consistent execution of enterprise cardiology priorities.
- Support enterprise value-based care objectives through the development and execution of strategies designed to improve clinical outcomes, optimize resource utilization, and reduce avoidable healthcare costs.
- Maintain accountability for service line financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, capital planning, and achievement of growth and operational KPIs.
- Standardize cardiology workflows, policies, protocols, and performance expectations across diagnostic, ambulatory, and monitoring services to improve quality, efficiency, and scalability.
- Oversee expansion of cardiology capabilities in new and existing markets, including launch planning, operational readiness, staffing models, equipment deployment, and provider integration.
- Direct leaders and teams supporting cardiology services, including hiring, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and team development.
- Drive continuous improvement in clinical quality, member safety, reporting accuracy, operational throughput, and member satisfaction through data-informed decision-making and performance reviews.
- Serve as the primary operational liaison among sonographers, clinical teams, administrative leaders, and vendors for cardiology services.
- Provide executive oversight of the echocardiography/echo sonography program across markets, including program design, capacity planning, access standards, quality benchmarks, and regulatory/accreditation readiness, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery in alignment with enterprise cardiology strategy.
- Oversee sonographer staffing, training, and competency validation, along with governance of echocardiography equipment, protocols, and reporting workflows, to ensure reliable operations and scalable program growth.
- Oversee ambulatory cardiac monitoring workflows and EMR/PACS integration to support reliable operations and end-user adoption across cardiology systems.
- Cultivate relationships with community providers, strategic partners, and market stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways, program visibility, and service line growth.
- Provide leadership, operational expertise, and project oversight for organizational performance improvement initiatives and other enterprise operational priorities as assigned.

Reporting Relationship / Span of Control:
The Sr. Director of Cardiology Services operates as an enterprise service line leader and works in close partnership with regional operations leadership and Market Medical Directors to align cardiology strategy, operational priorities, and market execution. This role provides routine updates on service line performance, access, quality, growth initiatives, and operational barriers.
Span of control includes direct leadership of cardiology service line resources and indirect influence across market-based operational, clinical, and support teams involved in cardiology care delivery. The role is expected to maintain a regular operating cadence with Regional Ops SVPs and Sr MMDs to review results, address performance gaps, coordinate market readiness, and ensure consistent execution of enterprise cardiology priorities.

- Well-versed in cardiology-related technologies, including ultrasound equipment, ambulatory monitoring platforms, PACS, and EMR integration.
- High degree of emotional intelligence, integrity, and resilience, with a hands-on, collaborative leadership style.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally up to 50% of the time.

Education and Experience:
Â
- Bachelor’s degree required in healthcare administration, business, nursing, allied health, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience with demonstrated success leading multi-site healthcare operations, ambulatory services, service line operations, or value-based care initiatives. Experience in cardiology, cardiovascular services, or related clinical operations preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of multi-site operational leadership with accountability for performance across multiple locations or markets.
- Demonstrated experience with budget management, capital planning, and operational KPI ownership; prior P&L accountability preferred.
- Experience leading clinical and operational teams in a regulated healthcare environment, including physician partnership, workforce development, and quality improvement.
- Relevant cardiology or imaging credentials are preferred, such as Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer through CCI, where applicable to candidate background.
- Experience working within value-based care environments, risk-bearing organizations, physician-led organizations, or integrated care delivery models strongly preferred.
