Cleveland Clinic’sG81 ENT/Plastics & Internal Medicine Unitis an 8-bed ENT/Plastics specialty stepdown unit and a 24-bed internal medicine unit. Patients in this unit have a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions, such as head and neck cancer, surgical flaps and grafts, renal failure, diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia,sepsis and complex multi-system failure. Caregivers float to both sides of the unit, so you will have one foot in medicine and 1 foot in critical care. 

APRNcaregiver in this position worksvarying shifts from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM. PRN works a minimum of 64 hours every 6 weeks.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide direct nursing care. 

• Implement andmonitor patient care plans.  

• Monitor,record and communicate patients’ conditions.  

• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

• Assess andcoordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)  

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).  

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross 

• External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience.  

• Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief NursingOfficer level review and approval.  

• Will consider military RN experience. 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Bachelor ofscience innursing (BSN) 

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
