Campus Outreach Intern – Minnesota, North Dakota, or South Dakota
Pay: $17 per hour
Schedule: Part-time, 5-10 hours per week. Not to exceed 30 hours per month.
Shift times: Variable schedule based on intern schedule and availability. Some weekday availability is required for weekly check-in with supervisor. Hours per week will fluctuate slightly throughout internship.
Location: Hybrid within Minnesota, North Dakota, or South Dakota.
Job type: Hourly/Non-Exempt
Travel: Travel is required to campuses for outreach activities and occasional special events. Consistent, reliable access to transportation is required.
Length of Internship:Fall 2026 to May 2027.

Job Summary:
Under immediate supervision of the Minnesota Organizing Manager, the Campus Outreach Intern will carry out a variety of tasks related to recruitment of volunteers, education of the public about Planned Parenthood services and programming, and implementation of outreach activities for college students.
For a defined period, the Campus Outreach Intern will assist in planning and executing volunteer engagement events and outreach activities across our region. Some of the assigned duties include collaborating with the Planned Parenthood North Central States team in the planning of outreach activities, assisting with recruitment for events and programming, attending weekly team meetings, tabling at various events throughout the year, entry of data, and working on special projects as assigned by the Minnesota Organizer Manager. Campus Outreach Interns are advocates in implementing our mission of “Advancing and protecting sexual and reproductive healthcare for all.” They may perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Willingness to learn about sexual and reproductive health topics.
- Interest in engaging in social justice activism, including racial justice, reproductive justice, and queer justice.
- Able to communicate effectively with college students.
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Supports Planned Parenthood’s mission.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the internship, the Campus Outreach Intern will learn to:
- Talk about the reproductive freedom movement and the status of policies affecting our rights in the upper Midwest
- Grassroots organizing tactics and strategies critical to mobilizing communities and winning campaigns like pitching volunteers leadership opportunities, phone banking, canvassing, recruitment, volunteer 1:1 meetings, and volunteer management.
- Use organizing tools like VAN, Hustle, etc.
- Other professional development skills like event planning and execution, as well as program and project management
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Meet with Minnesota Organizing Manager and Senior Youth Organizing Associate regularly via meetings, video or phone calls, emails, texts, etc. to plan youth outreach events and the needs of other youth groups, especially those on campuses. Assist in preparing for, recruiting for, and facilitation of youth engagement events.
- Assist in administrative tasks that support youth programming, such as database entry, email communications, and outreach to youth groups across the region.
- Help campuses organize youth Get Out the Vote efforts. This may include phone banking, door-to-door canvassing, and more.
- Assist in campus-based promotion of local Planned Parenthood health centers.
- Assist in coordinating and carrying out advocacy and other outreach campaigns for youth.
- Network and collaborate with existing and emerging groups on local college campuses that support the mission of Planned Parenthood.
- Attend and assist with special events, such as Progress on the Prairie and Summer Social.
- Other duties as assigned.
