Directly responsible for the safety and supervision of camp participants. Prepares daily activities and ensures camp counselors have materials and instructions necessary for activities. Leads camp counselors and camp participant's daily camp activities. Maintains camper and counselor discipline as necessary in appropriate manner and provides reports on camper and camp counselor behavior to Camp Director. Serves as a role model for appropriate camper and counselor behavior. Serves as liaison between Camp Counselors and Camp Director. Reports any accidents to proper camp personnel. Takes accurate attendance of campers daily.This is a seasonal position assisting with Holiday Camp.

- Responsible for the safety and supervision of camp staff, participants, activities, and events.
- Assists in creating, developing, and scheduling camp activities / events.
- Assists with activity set-up / take-down and maintaining camp supplies and equipment.Â
- Prepares daily activities and ensures camp counselors have materials and instructions necessary for activities.
- Models appropriate and professional staff behavior and maintains counselor discipline as needed in a manner consistent with City of Georgetown employee policies. Builds positive working relationships with other staff.Â
- Supports Counselors with camper discipline as needed in a manner consistent withCamp Goodwater Behavior Policy. Provides reports on camper behavior to Camp Director.
- Serves as liaison between Counselors and Camp Director.Â
- Safely transports participants in City of Georgetown vehicles as needed for camp activities.
- Helps maintain various Camp Goodwater paperwork and files.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
At least two (2) years of experience working with children in a day camp setting.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of recreation programming.
- Willing to work under direct supervision and follow given instructions.Â
- Ability to work independently.Â
- General knowledge of camp and/or recreation programs.Â
- Ability and experience to lead and supervise children.Â
- Ability and experience to lead and supervise staff.Â
- Ability to safely transport participants in City vehicles.
- Proven conflict resolution skills.
- Regular punctual attendance is required.

CERTIFICATION(S)/LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid Class C Texas Driver's License required. Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED certifications required.
EMPLOYMENT TESTING:
Employment is contingent on passing post-offer, pre-employment drug testing and criminal background investigation.
Work Schedule:Â
Head Counselors work full-day, 9-hour shifts during camp hours (7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday)
Head Counselors will also assist in training Counselors and setting up Goodwater spaces prior to camp session.
Hiring Range: $14.50 - $16.50, hourly.
