We are looking for aStaff Transfer Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will provide technical leadership for manufacturing process transfer projects, supporting the successful transition of products and processes into commercial manufacturing. You will be responsible for analyzing complex situations, organizing and prioritizing activities, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to ensure projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, and in alignment with quality and operational requirements.

The Staff Transfer Engineer will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, manufacturing process optimization, product flow, and capacity enhancement, with the goal of improving overall manufacturing efficiency and achieving established service level and performance targets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Independently plan and execute engineering assignments, applying sound judgment to evaluate, adapt, and improve standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

  • Lead and support manufacturing process transfer activities, including production line setup, validation, and startup at the receiving site.

  • Participate in the design, testing, and implementation of manufacturing tooling and fixtures.

  • Coordinate daily activities of operators during manufacturing transfers, ensuring training and project activities are completed according to schedule.

  • Analyze process data, identify root causes, and recommend solutions to resolve manufacturing and process issues.

  • Conduct manufacturing reviews, pre-validation assessments, experiments, and testing to support the safe, compliant, and effective implementation of new processes.

  • Define, execute, and document in-process and product release testing, including test procedures, data collection, and results.

  • Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate engineering documentation in accordance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices.

  • Ensure project resources follow applicable company safety, quality, environmental, and operational policies.

  • Set up, adjust, and operate basic R&D, laboratory, and manufacturing equipment as required.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, applying broad knowledge of engineering principles and related disciplines to develop solutions and improve manufacturing processes.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong understanding of medical device manufacturing processes, quality systems, and industry requirements.
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in roles such as New Product Introduction (NPI), Process Transfer, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar.
  • Fluent in English (B2) both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information in a professional environment.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods and process improvement tools, including Capability Analysis, C/R, Gage R&R, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Six Sigma certification is preferred and considered an asset.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrates more than a basic understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and project management fundamentals.
  • Developing proficiency in structured problem-solving methodologies, including root cause analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to provide effective group leadership and cross-functional coordination, particularly when managing complex or competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and the ability to identify and implement practical solutions to engineering and manufacturing challenges.
