Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for aCAD Operator IIIwith our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension. This is a hybrid position - 3 days a week in office.


Pay:$23.00 - $28.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.


Description:
Transforms preliminary engineering and product designs into detailed construction and engineering documents using CAD software. Develops, modifies, and reviews drawings to ensure compliance with established specifications, standards, and design requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, revise, and maintain detailed engineering and design drawings.
  • Ensure designs adhere to company, industry, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers and project teams to resolve design issues and incorporate revisions.
  • Perform quality reviews of drawings and documentation.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedule and quality expectations.
  • May lead design efforts and provide technical direction to other designers.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of CAD design experience in engineering, utilities, infrastructure, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of MicroStation.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, sketches, and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of drafting standards, design practices, and quality control processes.
  • Ability to work independently on complex assignments and provide guidance to less experienced team members.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with AutoCAD 3D.
  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related technical discipline.
