Design Lead

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Design lead to own and elevate the visual execution of the SSI brand across all touchpoints. This role is responsible for translating brand and content strategy into high-quality visual outputs, ensuring consistency, craft, and excellence in design.

The Design Lead works closely with the Creative Director, designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive, on-brand creative at scale. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on visual systems, execution, and design quality.

Key Responsibilities

Visual Direction & Brand Execution:

• Own the visual language of the SSI brand across all mediums
• Translate brand and content strategy into compelling visual systems
• Ensure visual consistency, quality, and clarity across all design outputs
• Maintain and evolve visual guidelines and design systems

Design Leadership & Execution: 

• Lead hands-on design work across:
  • Brand and marketing collateral
  • Campaign assets
  • Presentations and decks
  • Digital and social assets 
• Review, refine, and elevate design work produced by others
• Set high standards for layout, typography, and visual storytelling

Campaign & Content Collaboration:

• Partner closely with the Creative Director to bring campaigns and content to life visually
• Collaborate with content, marketing, and growth teams to support initiatives
• Ensure visuals strengthen and amplify content and messaging
• Support rapid iteration while maintaining design excellence

Scalable Design Systems & AI Enablement:

• Build scalable design systems and templates to support efficient execution
• Leverage AI and automation tools to accelerate design workflows
• Ensure responsible and consistent use of AI in visual creation
• Continuously improve speed and efficiency without compromising quality

Team Collaboration & Culture:

• Work closely with designers and external partners
• Provide feedback, mentorship, and guidance on visual craft
• Contribute to building a strong internal creative culture
• Encourage design rigor, curiosity, and continuous improvement

Success Metrics: 

• High-quality, consistent visual expression of the SSI brand
• Efficient design execution at scale
• Strong collaboration with content and campaign teams
• Clear, usable design systems adopted across teams
• Elevated overall design quality and craft

Experience:

• 7–10+ years of experience in design and art direction
• Strong background in brand, marketing, and communication design
• Proven experience leading visual execution across multiple formats and channels
