Software Development Engineer 3

About the team / Role

As an SDE 3, you will autonomously lead the design, scaling, and implementation of core backend systems and distributed data infrastructure. Balancing deep technical expertise with strong cross-functional collaboration, you will translate complex business requirements into high-performance architectures, champion engineering best practices, and actively mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

How you'll make an impact 

• Lead the design and implementation of complex backend features, distributed microservices, and asynchronous REST APIs optimized for high throughput, low latency, and fault tolerance.

• Design event-driven data pipelines, real-time message integrations, serverless functions, and distributed caching strategies to ensure data consistency and synchronization between modern and legacy data stores.

• Implement advanced error handling (retry patterns, circuit breakers), automated database migrations, and secure authentication/authorization flows (OAuth 2.0, JWT, RBAC).

• Manage cloud infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code (IaC), optimize containerized environments, and establish robust observability stacks (distributed tracing, metrics, logging).

• Maintain excellent automated test coverage (unit, integration, load testing), drive performance profiling, and foster team growth through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance.

Experience you will bring

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, including3+ years with high-level backend languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java) and2+ years scaling production distributed systems.

• Proven track record of delivering mission-critical services, featuring deep knowledge of async programming, relational databases (query optimization, partitioning), and distributed key-value caches.

• Strong command of microservices communication, event streaming/message brokers, containerization, and CQRS/event-sourcing concepts.

• Hands-on experience with major cloud ecosystems (serverless compute, managed storage, IAM), IaC tools, ORMs, and secure API design principles.

• Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to take absolute ownership of technical initiatives and lead alignment discussions in agile environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience bridging modern cloud architectures with legacy database infrastructure.

• Domain background in financial services, logistics, fleet management, or dynamic pricing systems.

• Experience optimizing automated CI/CD pipelines, high-availability setups, and disaster recovery planning.

• Familiarity with advanced telemetry dashboards (Prometheus/Grafana) and performance profiling tools.
