Buyer/Procurement Analyst

PGS Worldwide is seeking aBuyer/Procurement Analyst inStratford, CT for an approximately one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will manage procurement activities, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating pricing, purchasing materials and equipment, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of related experience OR Master's degree with 2-6 years of related experience.

• Experience working with procurement systems.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational and project management skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• Strong customer service focus and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Self-motivated with a demonstrated sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership of assigned tasks.

• Ability to manage multiple procurement activities and priorities.

What You’ll Do

• Source, negotiate, and purchase electrical components, wire and cable, machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and supplies.

• Review supplier proposals, negotiate pricing, and select or recommend suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery requirements.

• Compile and analyze purchasing data to evaluate procurement feasibility and establish pricing objectives.

• Monitor supplier performance and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.

• Verify deliveries, approve payments, and maintain accurate procurement records.

• Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) and bid packages as needed.

• Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletions, and modifications to subcontracts.

• Analyze supplier operations, pricing structures, and manufacturing processes to identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Evaluate opportunities to leverage material acquisitions and improve procurement efficiency.

• Track market pricing trends and manufacturing developments to support purchasing decisions.

• Collaborate with internal departments, external suppliers, and customers to meet procurement objectives.

• Support additional procurement and supplier management activities as needed.

Pay

$30.80-$35.00 per hour.
