| Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting applications for the temporary, full-time position of Buyer in the Finance & Asset Management business unit. Under the direction of the Supervisor Inventory Management, the Buyer will coordinate with HRM clients, suppliers, and other procurement staff to meet operational requirements. The Buyer is responsible for purchasing equipment and materials to support warehouse activities and perform inventory management services for assigned locations through the application of inventory management and logistics, techniques, and principles. In addition to their key responsibilities, the Buyer is expected to integrate established goals and objectives, recognize the roles and responsibilities within the procurement process including the application of standardized programs and practices as they carry out their work by applying appropriate purchasing processes and HRM’s standardized workflow processes. Procurement staff are expected to advocate for and demonstrate the value of public procurement; to demonstrate a high level of professional values and ethics; to apply strict compliance with confidentiality and protection of information regulations; and to integrate the mission, vision and values of the Procurement department in everyday practice.
