| Health plan or business unit: Proposal Development Team culture: Our team culture is collaborative, accountable, and highly supportive, with a shared focus on delivering high-quality, compliant work in a fast-paced environment. However, due to the time-sensitive nature of RFP work, there are periods—particularly during active production and submission phases—where additional hours may be needed to support deadlines. Typical task breakdown and rhythm: The day is a mix of structured production work, graphic editing, real-time collaboration, and quick-turn updates, with priorities shifting based on project deadlines and team needs. | Compelling Story & Candidate Value Proposition | ||
| What makes this role interesting? The Proposal Specialist role is interesting because it sits at the center of the entire proposal process—combining strategy, coordination, technical detail, and production into one highly dynamic role. You’re not just doing one task, you see how everything comes together and directly impacts the final outcome. Proposal Specialists are a key player on the team that directly drives whether the proposal is accurate, compliant, and submitted successfully. Points about team culture: Everyone on the team takes their role very seriously and generally expects an immediately turnaround on requests. There is a strong “we succeed together” mindset, especially important during high-volume RFP cycles. We operate with a strong sense of shared accountability—team members consistently step in to support one another to ensure overall success. Our team excels in fast-paced environments, maintaining quality and attention to detail even under compressed timelines. Competitive market comparison: I have heard from others who have worked in competitor Proposal Departments our team’s roles typically cover a broader range of responsibilities than standard proposal functions, as we are involved across nearly all phases of the proposal lifecycle rather than focusing on a single area. Unique selling points Our team’s unique strength is the breadth and depth of our role—we don’t operate in silos. We lead and contribute across strategy, planning, content development, compliance, and final production, allowing us to deliver more cohesive, high-quality, and competitive proposals. Value added or experience gained Joining our team offers the opportunity to develop a rare combination of strategic, technical, and operational skills. Team members gain end-to-end ownership experience, work across functions, and build the confidence and capability to manage complex, high-impact deliverables. | |
