Position: Business Intelligence / Tableau Administrator
Location: Hartford, CT Hybrid
Duration: 12+ Months Contract (Extension Possible)
Interview Process: In-Person/Virtual

  • Candidates must be local to the Hartford, Connecticut area or willing to commute or relocate.
  • The consultant must be available to work onsiteone day per week.
  • The consultant must attend at least one in-person interview.

Job Description 
 
Core Responsibilities
 
Tableau Cloud Administration
  • Administer Tableau Cloud sites, projects, users, groups, permissions, and security.
  • Support Tableau environments across Development, Test, and Production.
  • Monitor platform health, scheduled jobs, extract refreshes, report subscriptions, and related services.
  • Troubleshoot Tableau performance, connectivity, reporting, access, and publishing issues.
  • Deploy and promote reports across environments.
  • Provide support to report developers, analysts, and business users.
  • Manage user setup, deactivation, roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and routine access administration.
Reporting and Data Support
  • Support enterprise reporting and analytics platforms.
  • Investigate reporting-data issues and complete data-validation activities.
  • Analyze data quality problems and identify root causes.
  • Assist with SQL and SOQL troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • Monitor database connectivity, query performance, data refreshes, and reporting-related processes.
Azure SQL and ADF Support
  • Support and troubleshoot Azure SQL Database environments used for enterprise reporting.
  • Monitor and support Azure Data Factory pipelines that load Salesforce and other source-system data into Azure SQL Database.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures, data-load errors, refresh issues, and data-quality defects.
  • Collaborate with development and integration teams during incidents, releases, and deployments.
Integration Support
  • Support MuleSoft Runtime Fabric environments and integrations that affect reporting platforms.
  • Assist with root-cause analysis for integration, database, data-pipeline, and reporting issues.
  • Escalate Salesforce-related issues as appropriate.
Team Collaboration and Documentation
  • Work through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Create and maintain required technical documentation.
  • Partner with the Salesforce Architect to establish and follow best practices.
  • Provide input to management on architecture and design decisions, estimates, and resource planning.
  • Mentor, guide, and train less-experienced team members.
 
Required Qualifications
 
The ideal candidate will have5+ years of relevant professional experience and demonstrate strong technical judgment, independence, creativity, and leadership capability.
Skill Area Requirement
Tableau Cloud Experience administering and supporting Tableau Cloud
Tableau Reporting Experience supporting dashboards, enterprise reporting, and analytics platforms
SQL Strong SQL skills
Relational Databases Experience with Azure SQL Database or a similar relational database platform
Salesforce Knowledge of Salesforce objects, fields, relationships, and design impacts
Salesforce Administration Experience with users, roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, access, and routine administrative activities
Problem Solving Strong critical-thinking and troubleshooting skills related to access, declarative logic, environments, business requests, and backup solutions
Salesforce Support Comfortable engaging and escalating issues to Salesforce
SDLC Experience working across all SDLC phases and maintaining technical documentation
Communication Strong verbal and written communication skills
Work Style Highly organized, proactive, self-directed, and able to drive work from requirements through implementation
Leadership Able to mentor team members and contribute to technical, design, architecture, estimation, and resource-planning decisions
 
Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Azure Data Factory (ADF) experience.
  • MuleSoft Runtime Fabric (RTF) or MuleSoft integration experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce data and reporting environments.
  • Microsoft Azure experience.
  • Microsoft SQL Server experience.
  • Transact-SQL experience.
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) experience.
