Business Intelligence Engineer, JP OPS STAR

Amazon Supply Chain is looking for a customer focused, analytically and technically skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to drive effective performance measurement and management, innovation and execution in last mile delivery. This position will be responsible for playing a key role in our Analytics team building out analysis, reporting, automation and visualization dashboards and processes’ to support our growing logistics business in Japan. The successful candidate will be able to effectively retrieve, integrate, visualize and present critical data to improve the efficiency of the package delivery network. This individual will work with technical and business teams to optimize execution, process improvement and track progress against goals. This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities as well as strong business acumen and comfort with technical teams and systems. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and enjoy working with large scale of data.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead data-driven presentations to executive stakeholders, translating complex analytics into actionable business insights and strategic recommendations
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver comprehensive solutions
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to prioritize and define JP Ops Japan's data and BI development needs
• Work with scientists, global supply chain, transportation, and logistics teams to identify new BI capabilities and projects
• Conduct deep-dive investigations into operations and business challenges, identifying opportunities and leading implementation
• Analyze large datasets to uncover trends in last-mile logistics, producing solid analysis reports with actionable recommendations
• Develop queries and visualizations for both ad-hoc requests and ongoing reporting needs

• アドホックなリクエストおよび継続的なレポーティングニーズに対応するクエリおよびビジュアライゼーションを開発する

Basic qualifications

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- 2+ years of Tableau Desktop, Quicksight or other relevant data visualization software experience
- Bachelor's degree or above in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time Exempt experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience using SQL (Structured Query Language) to pull data from a database or data warehouse
- Experience using Python scripting to process data for modeling
- Redshift、Oracle、NoSQLなどを使用したデータの分析・解釈の経験3年以上
- Tableau Desktop、QuickSight、またはその他の関連するデータ可視化ソフトウェアの使用経験2年以上

Preferred qualifications

- Master's degree or above in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
