Supervises Others: Volunteers and coordinators as assigned.
Pay Range: $73,000 - $75,000 per year DOE

 Mission of OneOC:
Help shape and grow OneOC’s volunteer engagement services for companies and nonprofits.
A company wants its people to give back.
                                   A nonprofit has a need.
You see how to bring them together and enjoy turning that connection into a well-run volunteer project.

OneOC is looking for an enterprising Volunteer Services Manager who is ready for broader ownership and the opportunity to build and grow programs. You will strengthen existing volunteer activities and help shape new services at an early stage, including an outsourced volunteer management program for companies and nonprofits.

 What you will help build:
  • Volunteer Service Projects that respond to community needs and give volunteers a meaningful way to contribute.
  • An engaged Corporate Volunteerism Council that connects company representatives and encourages shared learning and action.
  • Strong company participation and well-organized delivery of OneOC’s CIVIC50 activities.
  • Skills-based volunteer recruitment and outsourced placements that connect professional expertise with nonprofit needs.
  • A new outsourced volunteer management service, from understanding client needs and piloting delivery to building the systems            that support growth.

You will own project plans and partner relationships, coordinate staff and volunteers, and help generate revenue through paid services and sponsorships. You will work closely with OneOC’s leadership and Senior Manager of Business Development to turn opportunities into sustainable services.

 What you will bring:
At least five years of relevant experience, strong project management skills, and a record of building productive relationships. You have helped develop or grow a program and have some experience generating revenue through clients, paid services, sponsorships, or renewals. You care about volunteering, enjoy finding and implementing service projects, and take initiative. You can adapt when plans change, make progress while processes are still taking shape, and follow through on the details. Experience may come from volunteer engagement, nonprofit programs, corporate partnerships, client services, or a related field.

Why this could be your next step:

You will help decide how new services work, learn from early projects, and develop programs that more companies and nonprofits can use.     If you are ready to take greater ownership and enjoy building something while delivering results in the community, we would like to hear     from you.

 JOB OVERVIEW
The Volunteer Services Manager leads the delivery, development, and growth of OneOC’s volunteer engagement services. The role connects companies, nonprofits, and volunteers to well-planned opportunities that address community needs and provide a rewarding volunteer experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an enterprising relationship builder who enjoys turning ideas into practical services. The manager strengthens existing activities while developing new offerings, including an outsourced volunteer management program for companies and nonprofits. Strong project management, adaptability, and follow-through are essential as services are tested, refined, and expanded.

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with the Director of Nonprofit Services, the President & CEO, the Senior Manager of Business Development, and the volunteer services team, the manager provides day-to-day operational leadership, ensures service continuity, strengthens client relationships, and develops financially sustainable volunteer engagement services. The role combines reliable delivery of established programs with the development, testing, and scaling of new offerings.

Position Overview
Provide day-to-day leadership and support to volunteer services clients to ensure service continuity, growth, and an exceptional customer experience. Oversee the implementation and delivery of the following programs and services:

Volunteer Service Projects: Identify community needs in partnership with nonprofits; develop suitable projects; and oversee planning, volunteer participation, supplies, budgets, on-site delivery, and follow up. Build a range of projects that companies engage employees in and support and that nonprofits can host.

Corporate Volunteerism Council:
Build and maintain member relationships; coordinate meetings, learning opportunities, and shared service activities; and encourage participation, retention, and new membership.

CIVIC50: Manage OneOC’s program work plan, company outreach, participation support, deadlines, and recognition-related coordination in collaboration with colleagues and program partners.

Skills-based volunteering:
Recruit volunteers with professional expertise and coordinate outsourced placements with nonprofit partners. Agree on project scope, skills needed, deliverables, and responsibilities; support matching and onboarding; and follow progress through completion.

Outsourced volunteer management:
Develop, pilot, and scale a new service through which OneOC manages agreed volunteer activities on behalf of companies and nonprofits. Assess demand, define service packages and pricing with leadership, establish procedures, and refine delivery before expanding.

  • Monitor program performance, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports. Track delivery, participation, volunteer hours, placement completion, partner satisfaction, revenue, and community outcomes, using results to improve services.
  •  Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking for assigned community engagement activities. Work with the supervisor and finance team to monitor income and expenses and address variances.
  • Lead volunteer committees, workgroups, and planning teams as assigned. Supervise and support assigned coordinators and volunteers, set priorities, delegate work, and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure successful delivery of volunteer services and signature events. Maintain knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in corporate social responsibility, employee engagement, and volunteerism.
