Position Summary
Made for Movement (MfM) is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurialBusiness Development Manager to establish and develop the company’s presence in the U.S. market. This role will be responsible for building market understanding, creating clinical demand, developing key relationships, and establishing the foundation for scalable commercial growth, in collaboration with Sunrise Medical.
This isnot a traditional sales role. It is a hands-on business development and market-building position that combines clinical credibility, commercial understanding, relationship development, and execution. The successful candidate will serve as a key representative of MfM in the U.S., working directly with clinicians, healthcare institutions, key opinion leaders, and other stakeholders to understand market needs and demonstrate the clinical and commercial value of MfM solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a clinical background, such asPhysical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), or a related field, along with a strong commercial mindset and experience navigating complex healthcare or medical technology sales cycles.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Strategy
- Establish and develop Made for Movement’s presence and market position in the United States.
- Develop a structured understanding of the U.S. market, including pediatric, adult neurological, rehabilitation, and Veterans Affairs (VA) segments.
- Identify and prioritize target institutions, clinics, rehabilitation centers, and other potential customers.
- Evaluate market opportunities, customer needs, competitive landscape, and potential barriers to adoption.
- Develop and provide recommendations regarding go-to-market strategy, market positioning, pricing, resources, and scalability.
- Translate market insights and customer feedback into actionable recommendations for MfM and Sunrise Medical.
Clinical & Customer Engagement
- Develop strong relationships with therapists, clinicians, healthcare professionals, institutions, and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
- Create clinical awareness and demand through direct engagement with healthcare professionals and organizations.
- Conduct product demonstrations, clinical discussions, trials, and training sessions.
- Coordinate and execute product try-outs and demonstrations at targeted clinical sites.
- Communicate the clinical value and potential applications of MfM products in a compelling and credible manner.
- Establish reference sites where prospective customers can experience and evaluate MfM solutions.
Business Development & Pipeline Generation
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of prospective customers and opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for product adoption and develop relationships through the healthcare sales cycle.
- Translate clinical interest into commercial opportunities and measurable market traction.
- Establish proof points and reference accounts to support future commercial expansion.
- Track market activity, customer feedback, opportunities, and key performance indicators through structured reporting.
Collaboration
- Serve as the primary U.S. market presence for Made for Movement during the initial market development phase.
- Work closely with the MfM CEO and leadership team to communicate market insights, opportunities, and challenges.
- Collaborate with Sunrise Medical North America as needed to leverage existing resources, expertise, relationships, and infrastructure.
- Support alignment between MfM and Sunrise Medical regarding U.S. market strategy and commercial development.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Clinical background preferred, such asPT, OT, ATP, or a related healthcare/rehabilitation discipline.
- Experience working within the U.S. healthcare system, preferably with clinics, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, VA facilities, or similar institutions.
- Commercial experience within medical technology, healthcare, rehabilitation, or a related industry.
- Understanding of complex medical technology sales cycles, including capital equipment (CapEx) sales.
- Strong business development and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and commercial audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently in an early-stage or market-building environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the U.S.

- Regular travel throughout the U.S. is expected to engage customers, conduct demonstrations, establish reference sites, and develop market relationships.
- Regular/monthly visits to the Sunrise Medical U.S. headquarters inNashville, Tennessee.
- Collaboration with Sunrise Medical North America and Made for Movement teams will be an important component of the role.
