About the Role 

As aBusiness Demand Planner, you will play an important role in creating robust, realistic demand plans for Hungary, export business, Czech Republic and Slovakia. You will combine analytical thinking with commercial understanding, turning data, market intelligence and business assumptions into meaningful planning insights. 

Reporting to the Regional Demand Planning Manager, you will work closely with Commercial/Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing and Innovation stakeholders. Your ability to ask the right questions, constructively challenge assumptions and bring stakeholders towards a common planning view will be central to your success.

What You Will Do 

• Demand Planning: Develop, maintain and continuously improve demand forecasts across the planning horizon, ensuring a high-quality country cluster demand plan. 

• Business Partnership: Gather, validate and constructively challenge assumptions from Commercial, Marketing, Innovation and Finance, translating market intelligence and business developments into the demand plan. 

• Planning Performance: Monitor demand-planning performance through KPIs such as Sales Plan Performance, forecast bias and Demand Plan Accuracy, using root-cause analysis to identify opportunities for improvement. 

• Demand Reviews: Drive effective demand reviews as part of the Sales & Operations Planning and Integrated Business Planning cycle, preparing clear analyses and recommendations to support business decisions. 

• Risks & Opportunities: Identify and communicate opportunities, vulnerabilities and key planning assumptions. Develop alternative demand scenarios, assess potential business impacts, and support decision-making through risk and opportunity analysis.

• Cross-functional Alignment: Partner across Commercial, Finance and Supply Chain to build a realistic demand outlook and strengthen business ownership of the demand plan. 
• Insight Generation: Translate complex data into clear insights and meaningful business recommendations that support decision-making at both operational and management levels.

• Continuous Improvement: Use planning systems, analytics and data to improve forecast quality, planning discipline and process effectiveness, while contributing to budget, financial forecasting and longer-term planning. 

Who You Are 

• You have university degree in Business Administration, Engineer, Logistics or related with focus on supply chain or degree in a commercial education with relevant experience 

• You bring experience in demand planning, forecasting, business planning, analytics or another commercially oriented cross-functional environment.  

• You are confident working with data, ERP and planning tools. Experience with SAP, SAP IBP is beneficial. 

• You communicate confidently in English, Hungarian is beneficial. 

• You combine analytical thinking and commercial awareness with strong communication, collaboration, adaptability and a continuous-improvement mindset.  

• You are curious, comfortable questioning assumptions and able to bring different stakeholder perspectives together. 
• You can influence stakeholders without direct authority and build alignment across cross-functional teams.
• You have a good understanding of how demand plans connect to business and financial performance.

More About Location 

The preferred location for this role isBudapest, Hungary, supporting close collaboration with the commercial organization. Prague, Czechia, may also be considered as an alternative location. The role follows Essity's hybrid working model.
