Role Summary:
- The Business Analyst II will lead the onboarding of forecasting models, including Promo Sign Ups, Subscription Churn, and Total Customers, into a financial forecasting platform built in TM1 and Apliqo. The role will produce documentation for each model build and improvement and establish a repeatable model-onboarding framework.
- The BA will act as the bridge between Finance stakeholders and TM1 Engineering, translating finance reporting requirements and model logic into technical specifications, coordinating implementation, and owning user acceptance testing
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and document finance reporting requirements from Finance stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications for TM1/Apliqo implementation.
- Define data requirements and source-data contracts for each model.
- Identify gaps between Finance Excel model requirements and current system capabilities and propose solutions.
- Wireframe and propose UI/UX for forecast adjustments and reporting.
- Partner with TM1 Engineering to design, build, test, and deploy Finance model updates.
- Define and execute UAT plans and validate financially correct outputs before production release.
- Document business rules, calculation logic, and data lineage.
- Identify gaps in platform validation checks and work with TM1/Apliqo, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams.
- Trace metric discrepancies across reporting surfaces to pipeline- or cube-level root causes.
- Own the TM1 Engineering ticket queue from intake through closure and prioritize work based on business priorities
Required Qualifications:
- 4–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst in finance systems or enterprise planning tools.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams.
- Experience assessing business processes and designing improved workflows, including wireframing and UI/UX proposals.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and scenario analysis.
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying relational databases, validating data, and tracing data lineage.
- Experience with UAT planning and execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- TM1, IBM Planning Analytics, or Apliqo experience.
- Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data warehouse concepts, such as Redshift, Andes, or similar.
- Familiarity with FP&A, including forecasting, actuals vs. plan variance, and dimensional modeling.
- Experience in media, streaming, or subscription business models
