Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to support Digital Finance and Partnership Enablement initiatives, with a focus on financial advisor partnership programs, incentive systems, and finance-related applications. The ideal candidate will partner with Product Owners, finance strategy leaders, business stakeholders, and technology teams to translate business needs into product requirements, user stories, system configurations, testing strategies, and adoption plans.
This role requires strong business systems analysis skills, hands-on experience supporting custom-built finance applications, and the ability to work across business and technical teams to deliver system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements. Experience with financial services, tax, accounting, and technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, React, and Oracle databases is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Owners, finance strategy leaders, and internal business users to understand business needs, define product priorities, and translate requirements into actionable solutions.
- Analyze, document, and improve business processes, workflows, and financial advisor partnership and incentive-related operations, with an emphasis on efficiency, usability, controls, and business value.
- Translate business requirements into epics, features, user stories, process flows, functional specifications, and clearly defined acceptance criteria.
- Support the maintenance, enhancement, configuration, and integration of financial planning, analysis, and other finance-related systems.
- Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and Agile delivery activities, coordinating with developers, QA teams, data teams, Product Owners, and finance stakeholders.
- Develop test strategies, test scenarios, test data, and test scripts based on business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate and execute system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, defect triage, and validation of delivered functionality.
- Support custom-built finance applications developed using Java, Spring Boot, React, and Oracle Database, including relevant configurations, business rules, workflows, forms, metadata, security, and data loads.
- Analyze system integrations, data flows, technical dependencies, and downstream business impacts; identify risks and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct descriptive and diagnostic data analysis, root-cause analysis, impact analysis, and scenario analysis to support business decisions and operational reporting.
- Develop prototypes, process models, and scenario analyses to validate business needs and support solution design.
- Maintain accurate documentation of business requirements, system configurations, process flows, test results, decisions, and operational procedures.
- Support release readiness, post-implementation activities, configuration updates, system administration, and end-user issue resolution.
- Develop communication, training, and adoption plans to support the successful implementation of new features, system enhancements, and process changes.
- Lead change management activities for smaller initiatives and collaborate with project and change management teams on larger initiatives.
- Monitor delivered capabilities to ensure they meet business requirements and provide measurable value to end users.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and effective stakeholder communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, STEM, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- 7+ years of experience in business analysis, business systems analysis, product delivery, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience in the Financial Services, Tax, or Accounting domain.
- At least 2 years of experience designing, implementing, configuring, or supporting custom-built finance systems and related data.
- Experience with business systems analysis practices, including requirements elicitation, documentation, process modeling, functional specifications, and stakeholder management.
- Experience creating and managing epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process workflows in an Agile environment.
- Practical experience with system testing, UAT, regression testing, test documentation, defect management, and requirements validation.
- Ability to perform data analysis, root-cause analysis, impact assessment, and scenario analysis to support business decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience supporting application enhancements, system integrations, production issues, and process improvements.
- Experience with custom applications built using Java, Spring Boot, React, and Oracle Database.
- Familiarity with financial planning and analysis (FP&A), financial advisor partnership programs, incentive systems, or finance operations.
- Experience working closely with Product Owners, developers, QA teams, data teams, and finance stakeholders.
- Knowledge of application configuration, business rules, metadata, forms, workflows, security, and data-loading processes.
- Experience with release management, change management, end-user training, and post-implementation support.
