Demand: Business Systems Analyst โ€“ Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM)
Level : SA/M
Location: Bangalore (Only)

Role Overview

The Business Systems Analyst leads requirements discovery and analysis for assigned CIAM capabilities, translating approved business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria. Working within the priorities and guardrails established by the Product Owner, the BSA collaborates closely with Engineering and Quality Engineering (QE) and has direct access to the Product Owner for timely clarification and decisions on business intent, scope and acceptance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with the Product Owner to understand product objectives, roadmap priorities, business value, scope and intended customer outcomes.
  • Analyze approved business needs and document the resulting functional, technical and non-functional requirements for CIAM capabilities.
  • Decompose initiatives, epics and features into clear, technically detailed user stories and acceptance criteria that are ready for Engineering and QE teams.
  • Define end-to-end process flows, system interactions, business rules, data requirements, API behaviours, integration points, dependencies, security controls and exception scenarios.
  • Ensure stories address successful journeys, alternate flows, error handling, access controls, auditability, privacy, accessibility, resiliency and performance expectations.
  • Prepare and facilitate discovery sessions, requirements workshops, solution walkthroughs, backlog refinement and three-amigo discussions with the Product Owner, Engineering and QE; document decisions and escalate unresolved priority or scope questions to the Product Owner.
  • Provide timely requirement clarification to developers and testers throughout design, build, testing and implementation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to validate technical feasibility, clarify integration and data requirements, and identify system impacts and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with QE to confirm that acceptance criteria are testable, support test-scenario development, and resolve requirement-related defects or gaps.
  • Maintain traceability from business requirements through stories, solution components, testing evidence and delivered outcomes.
  • Support backlog readiness by identifying assumptions, open questions, risks, dependencies, sequencing needs and definition-of-ready gaps.
  • Perform impact assessments across customer channels, authentication journeys, identity platforms, APIs, data stores, downstream applications and operational processes.
  • Support sprint planning, demonstrations, user acceptance testing coordination, release readiness, implementation validation and post-release reviews; provide traceability and evidence to inform Product Owner acceptance decisions.
  • Maintain accurate requirements and solution documentation in tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Analyze material scope, requirement, control and delivery issues; present options and recommendations to the Product Owner for decision.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or in a similar technology delivery role, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into detailed technical user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements and non-functional requirements.
  • Strong experience working within cross-functional Agile teams and partnering directly with Product Owners, software engineers, architects and Quality Engineering professionals.
  • Knowledge of CIAM concepts and customer journeys, including registration, authentication, authorization, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, passwordless authentication, identity verification, account recovery and session management.
  • Working knowledge of identity standards and protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, FIDO2/WebAuthn, REST APIs, JSON and LDAP.
  • Experience documenting system context, sequence, process and data-flow diagrams; integration requirements; API interactions; business rules; and error scenarios.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems, integrations and data dependencies and communicate findings clearly to business and technical audiences.
  • Understanding of banking cybersecurity, privacy, fraud, risk, accessibility, audit and regulatory expectations.
  • Strong facilitation, critical thinking, problem-solving, organization and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information technology, cybersecurity or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Platform and Technical Knowledge

  • Ping Identity platforms: Understanding of federation, SSO, authentication policies, OAuth/OIDC, token services and identity integrations using platforms such as PingFederate and PingOne.
  • Transmit Security: Understanding of identity orchestration, authentication journeys, passwordless capabilities, identity verification and fraud-aware decisioning.
  • MongoDB: Working knowledge of document data models, querying, customer profile data, indexing, data validation and secure data handling.
  • PingDS/PingDirectory: Understanding of LDAP directory structures, identity attributes, access controls, replication and integration patterns.
  • Delivery tools: Proficiency with Jira and Confluence; experience with process-modelling, API documentation and testing tools is an asset.
  • Ability to understand API specifications, payloads, data mappings, logs and technical designs sufficiently to create implementable and testable requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience delivering CIAM, IAM, cybersecurity, fraud prevention or digital banking capabilities.
  • Experience using behaviour-driven development and Given/When/Then acceptance criteria.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, microservices, event-driven architecture, API security, DevSecOps and observability.
  • Business analysis, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, cybersecurity or identity-related certification.
  • Experience supporting regulatory commitments, audit remediation, controls testing, production incidents or complex platform migrations in a financial institution.
