Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a large-scale application modernization initiative within a public-sector environment. The role involves transitioning legacy systems to a unified, modern platform, aligning existing business processes with the new solution, and supporting data migration, system testing, and organizational readiness. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, business stakeholders, technical teams, and change management teams to ensure business requirements are accurately documented, validated, and implemented.

Responsibilities:

• Lead business requirements gathering, elicitation, documentation, and validation through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and meetings.
• Analyze existing business processes and workflows, identify gaps, and support alignment with the target application.
• Validate solution design from a business
• perspective to ensure the new system meets operational and departmental requirements.
• Prepare and maintain business requirements documents, workflows, use cases, business process models, and fit-gap analysis documentation.
• Support system configuration based on business needs, including user access and security settings.
• Support data migration activities, including data cleansing, source-to-target mapping, data conversion rules, validation, reconciliation, and migration readiness.
• Develop test cases and test scripts based on business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate and support internal testing, client testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect tracking, and validation of fixes.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and change management teams to support business process transformation and organizational readiness.
• Assist with the preparation of user guides, training materials, and documentation for new or enhanced system functionality.
• Communicate effectively with technical teams, business representatives, and project leadership to resolve issues and maintain alignment.
• Support stabilization and go-live readiness activities and contribute to other project deliverables as required.

Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience working as a Business Analyst.
• Experience with 3–6 years of complex, large-scale application modernization projects.
• Demonstrated experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, validation, and stakeholder management.
• Experience supporting business process transformation and change management initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with data migration activities, including data mapping, conversion, validation, reconciliation, and migration readiness.
• Experience preparing test plans, test cases, and test scripts, executing tests, tracking defects, and supporting UAT.
• Experience working on enterprise application transformation, legacy system replacement, or system integration projects.
• Experience with mainframe systems is an asset.
• Recent experience working as a Senior Business Analyst on successful projects within the last two years.

• Familiarity with .NET Framework, ASP.NET WebForms, WCF, ASP.NET Core, .NET 8, and Razor Pages is beneficial for understanding the application environment.
• Knowledge of mainframe systems is an asset.
• Ability to prepare clear project documentation and collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.

Education:

• Post-secondary education of at least two years in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Relevant professional certifications are considered an asset.
