Software System Safety Engineer

This role is more than just coding. As a senior full stack developer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your passion to master new tools and techniques and identify needed system improvements. You’ll help clients overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. You’ll make sure the solution developed by the team considers thecurrent architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.  

We are searching for asoftware development professional interested in leveraging thatexperience to become asoftware system safety practitioner. Software system safety practitioners do not typically developsoftware – instead, they use various analyticalmethods to assess the risksoftware may contribute to the system under consideration.

You Have:

• 2+ years ofexperience developing complex systems, including developing and debugging multi–threaded or real–time embeddedsoftware

• Experience with object-oriented programming and familiarity with high reliability computing platforms and architecture such as Real Time Operating Systems(RTOS), Linux, Windows, or Mac

• Experience with C, C++, ADA,Rust, or Java

• Experience with the fullsoftware development lifecycle, from requirements decomposition to test verification and deployment

• Experience implementing programming andsoftware development standards

• Experience building effective rapport with stakeholders from different disciplines to achieve success

• Experience usingsoftware development environments and tools, including Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio, or RationalSoftware

• Experience operating systems and compiler technology

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, Engineering, orSoftware Engineering

Nice If You Have:

• Experience withsoftware system safety implementation

• Experience withsoftware testing              

• Experience with MIL-STD-882 orequivalent system safety standards

• Experience with FPGAs, PLDs, andfirmware development

• Experience with AI/MLsoftware safety and test and evaluation of fully autonomous systems

• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Master’s degree in CS, EE, Engineering, orSoftware Engineering

• Certified Safety Professional(CSP), Navy Principal for Safety(PFS), or Certified Systems Engineering Professional(CSEP)Certifications

Clearance:
