SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Substitute Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, partners, and staff. This position provides administrative and customer service support to ensure efficient office operations during periods of employee absence, leave, vacation, training, or increased workload. The Substitute Receptionist represents the organization in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner while maintaining confidentiality and delivering excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet clients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls.
- Provide accurate information regarding agency programs, services, and office procedures.
- Receive and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries.
- Assist with office security procedures as applicable.
- Operate standard office equipment including computers, copiers, printers, scanners, and multi-line telephone systems.
- Respond appropriately to client inquiries and refer individuals to the appropriate staff member, department, or program.
- Support administrative staff with clerical projects as assigned.
- Follow all agency policies and procedures regarding confidentiality, data privacy, and customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
