POSITION SUMMARY
The Boot Fitterunderstands the properties of ski equipment and is proficiently knowledgeable at evaluating the fitting of ski boots. This role focuses on selling ski boots, custom and cut-to-fit footbeds, and performing boot modifications to improve comfort and performance for skiing and other athletic footwear. The position also supports sales of related hardgoods, including skis, snowshoes, ski bags, and accessories.There are seasonal full time and part time opportunitiesavailable. This role is compensated at $21.00/hr.Â
Recruitment for this role will be ongoing through December.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESÂ Â Â Â
- Assess skiers or riders’ alignment through visual evaluation and physiological methodsÂ
- Access skiers current and future ski ability through conversation to determine best product fitÂ
- Analyze basic foot functions relative to boot shape kinesiology and stanceÂ
- Understand techniques for boot modifications, stance alignment protocolsÂ
- Ability to present educational discussions on biomechanicsÂ
- Demonstrate modifications to buyersÂ
- Fabrication of custom foot bedsÂ
- Operate point of sale system and follow all cash handling proceduresÂ
- Additional daily store duties.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in the ski/snowboard industry, preferred
- Previous boot fitting experience, preferred
- Customer service skills
- Strong computer literacy
- Self-motivated
- Strong communication, and organizational skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position will be required to work weekends and holidays.
