Centrica has launched a strategic programme to modernise the trading platform within its Centrica Energy Global trading division. The programme aims to establish a single, scalable platform for Renewable Energy Trading and Optimisation, supporting asset management portfolios, risk and PnL management, and full contract lifecycle management.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of a greenfield platform, helping consolidate multiple systems into a streamlined target architecture. Working at the heart of the energy transition, you will play a key role in shaping capabilities that support renewable energy trading, customer engagement, settlements, and greater transparency across the PPA lifecycle.

About the Role

Working across business and technology teams, you will be responsible for ensuring that business requirements are accurately captured, translated, and delivered within the target platform. The role spans the full solution lifecycle, from requirements analysis and functional design through to governance, testing, and business readiness. You'll act as a key link between stakeholders, product teams, architects, and developers to ensure solutions support business objectives while maintaining consistency across the platform landscape.

In practice, this means you will:

• Collaborate with business analysts, product software developers, and solution architects in an agile environment to deliver agreed project outcomes.

• Ensure requirements are clearly captured for PPA and RET&O contracts, including pricing terms, master data, settlement flows, and customer-facing processes.

• Align platform design with the strategic objectives of the Digital PPA offering.

• Apply strong knowledge of workflow and task setup, as well as quantitative pricing models for complex option structures.

• Support the design and implementation of certificate inventory management capabilities while maintaining ownership of user acceptance testing and business readiness activities.

About You

You bring extensive experience from energy trading environments and a strong understanding of the PPA contract lifecycle and the associated data flows. You are comfortable working across business and technology teams and have the ability to translate complex trading requirements into practical solutions. Alongside strong analytical capabilities, you combine a collaborative approach with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in energy trading or a closely related domain.

• Strong knowledge of the deal lifecycle and the end-to-end PPA contract lifecycle.

• Proven experience designing tools and functional capabilities for front-office trading, middle-office, and back-office processes.

• Practical experience working in agile product environments, including writing user stories and supporting backlog refinement.

• Experience working with ETRM systems together with strong capabilities in knowledge management, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
