The Role:Â It's an exciting time for us - Market Data collect,store and distribute financial data from over 250 exchanges globally in real time and we areunderway on our journey on moving functions and services to a cloud platform.Â
Â
While our environment is changing,you'll be helping tomonitor the application stack and infrastructure, collaborating with other Morningstar teams and 3rd party vendors to investigate and address issues.You’ll be making sure our monitoring coverage and visibility to issues does not diminish, and will also be instrumental in deploying new software,representing the team in infrastructure projects, including cloud migration initiatives. Through thisyou'll have the opportunity to directly influence and contribute to the design and implementation of new tooling and automation of team processes.Â

Place of Work:Â This position is based in ourLondon office.Â

Hours of Work: You’ll be required to work 40hrs a week. Afteran initial training period, you will graduate to join a shift rotation that can include late finishes and weekend work at points. You may also find shifts coincide with Public/BankHolidays.Â

 Responsibilities:Â
Work with the Londonand Mumbai squads to provide excellent and seamless 1st and 2nd line support of detected issues, taking corrective action or escalating further asappropriate.Â
Activelyidentify gaps in Opsmonitoring and tooling, and work withtheappropriate team to implementeffectivesolutions.Â
Respond to both internal and external requests effectively and efficiently, ensuring they are resolved withina timely manner. Â
Deploy,configure and test new software/updates to the Market Data application stack on behalf of Development teams.  Â
Create and/or update documentation as needed, tomaintain Ops knowledge base.Â
Undertake such training and/or hours of work as may bereasonablyrequired, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this roleÂ

Requirements:Â
With the nature of the role,we’ve found that candidates who offer logical thinking with solid troubleshooting capabilities, with a desire toidentify and address underlying issues make a strong start. In addition to this, we look for the followingÂ
Â
ExcellentEnglish communication skills.Â
2+ years’ experience in a Technical Operations / SRE roleÂ
Working knowledge of Windows Server flavours and Wintel hardwareÂ
Knowledge of network stacks,protocols and technologies.Â
Demonstrative competency in scripting withPowershell and/or PythonÂ
Experience with Enterprise andopen source monitoring tools such as Splunk or New RelicÂ
Experience ofworking withCI/CD tooling such as GitHub, Bitbucket, Harness,Kubernetes, TerraformÂ
Experience of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, demanding IT environment with a strong focus on business outcomes.Â
Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders.Â
Any experience in the financial services industry is also a plus.Â
