Childcare Assistant Teacher (FT)

POSITION SUMMARY

An Assistant at Blue Ridge Montessori School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment for all students.  This individual will work together with a Lead Guide and in conjunction with the entire faculty and staff.

Essential Functions Statement(s) 

• 
  Build secure relationships with all children. 
• 
  Report accidents, illnesses, and unusual behavior of children to lead Guide immediately.
• 
  Ensure that all students have necessary materials for class activities and day-to-day learning.
• 
  Work with students individually or in small groups for extension or remediation.
• 
  Enforce school rules and policies.
• 
  Supervise students in various settings including classrooms and playgrounds.
• 
  Provide care for students of all ages, as needed. 
• 
  Attend staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent, preferred.

Experience:  Educational or childcare experience, preferred.

Certifications & Licenses: CPR Certification, preferred.

Ability to pass a background check.
