Brand Management Director
The BMD defines the strategic direction and drives the commercial development of a portfolio of brands from international partners, while managing key stakeholder relationships within both the supplier organizations and MXL. The BMD leads a team responsible for planning and executing commercial and marketing strategies, ensuring cross-functional alignment, effective resource allocation, and the achievement of revenue, profitability, and category growth objectives.
Your responsibilities will be:
Brand Strategy:
- Craft comprehensive brand strategies to integrate online, offline, and hybrid sales and marketing channels, ensuring a cohesive customer experience.
- Present insights and strategies to leadership, guiding resource allocation and growth initiatives.
- Study consumer behavior, competitor strategies, and market trends to develop targeted marketing initiatives.
- Recommend innovative marketing tactics to increase brand visibility and customer engagement.
- Develop strategies to penetrate untapped customer segments and expand the brand’s footprint nationwide.
Business Performance and P&L Ownership:
- Align business goals with market & consumer insights to maximize revenue and brands household penetration in the market.
- Manage financial planning, ensuring budgets align with business objectives and reflect realistic revenue projections.
- Monitor inventory metrics to avoid overstock or shortages while maintaining supply chain efficiency.
- Implement data-driven solutions to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve team productivity.
- Manage the development of marketing campaigns, setting pricing models and promotional offers based on competitive analysis and customer insights working cross-functionally with other specialized areas.
- Oversee distribution strategies to ensure optimal product availability in target markets.
- Develop actionable plans based on market trends, business forecasts, and organizational goals.
Supplier Partnership management:
- Act as a brand ambassador, representing the organization in partnerships and negotiations.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings to uncover operational challenges.
- Actively participate in creating and implementing resolution plans, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and cooperation.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Marketing or Business-related field. MA/MS would be an asset.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in marketing, brand, and commercial management in the CPG Industry, holding a directive position with global/international enterprises.
- Experience in negotiating with Marketing, Trade Marketing, Sales, Operations and Finance.
- Experience in business partner management and negotiating with vendors or agencies.
- Strategic vision and long-term planning skills.
- Critical Thinking: possesses the ability to think deeply about complicated topics, evaluate arguments, make logical connections, and solve problems.
- Ability to exchange ideas and information with others both verbally and in writing. This may include public speaking, mediating conflict, negotiation, etc.
- Ability to collaborate and achieve results with a diverse group of colleagues.
- Ability to set goals, create strategies and persuade people to act upon them.
- Create lasting and productive relations inside and outside of the organization.
- Thorough understanding of marketing strategies and practices and brand management.
- Solid knowledge of CatMan, omnichannel advertising, in-store execution, and about the retail environment in the USA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Bilingual proficiency (English & Spanish) & multicultural capabilities.
- Mentorship ability to lead and develop high-performance and high-potential talent.
- Flexibility, adaptability to global cultures environments.
Physical demands:
The team member must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the team member is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The team member is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
