Network Infrastructure Engineer

The Network Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and operational support of customer network environments as part of BMIT’s managed services portfolio. The role focuses on ensuring the stability, security, and performance of customer LAN, WAN, firewall, wireless, and cloud network infrastructures. Working closely with Solution Architects, Service Delivery teams, and customers, the engineer delivers reliable, secure, and scalable network solutions across on‑premise and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Network Operations

• Onboard, administer, and perform day‑to‑day operational tasks on customer network environments, both on‑premise and cloud‑based.
• Manage and support customer firewalls, LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, and network security components.

Network Deployment & Maintenance

• Deploy, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and wireless access points.
• Perform preventive maintenance, upgrades, and service enhancements to ensure continued reliability and performance.

Incident Resolution & Troubleshooting

• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve network issues to ensure high availability and service quality.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Customer Engagement

• Act as a primary technical contact for customers for network‑related matters.
• Provide clear, professional communication during incidents, changes, and planned maintenance activities.

Documentation & Standards

• Document network designs, configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, up to date, and aligned with operational best practices.

Cloud Networking

• Support and integrate cloud networking services such as Azure Networking and AWS VPC.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects on hybrid and cloud‑first network designs.

Commercial & Internal Collaboration

• Work closely with commercial and service teams to understand customer requirements and tailor network solutions accordingly.
• Support solution reviews, change requests, and service improvements.

Operational Requirements

• Participate in an on‑call rotation.
• Carry out onsite customer visits when required.
• May be assigned different duties in accordance with Group exigencies from time to time.

Skills & Experience (Indicative)

Required

• Experience supporting and administering enterprise networks (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, wireless) in an MSP or enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Strong understanding of network security fundamentals and best practices.
• Ability to work to SLAs, follow change control, and produce clear technical documentation.
• Strong customer communication skills during incidents, changes, and maintenance.

Desirable

• Vendor certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto, Aruba).
• Experience with cloud networking (Azure Networking, AWS VPC) and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience with load balancers, SD-WAN, or advanced wireless design (beneficial).
