Role: Blue Mountain RAM R4 Data Migration & Implementation Specialist
Compensation: $100/hr, will commensurate with experience
Location: Remote/East Coast
Length of Contract: 8 months to 1 year
Position Description:
Our client, a life sciences manufacturer, is looking for an experienced Blue Mountain RAM Data Migration and Implementation Specialist to support the site's upgrade to Blue Mountain RAM R4.
About 80% of the role is hands-on data work:
- Migration and conversion
- Implementation
- Data verification
The ideal candidate has done Blue Mountain data conversions before, is extremely detail-oriented, and understands the calibration and maintenance data they're moving.
Responsibilities:
Data Migration, Conversion & Implementation (~80%)
- Data Migration & Conversion: Plan and execute the migration of asset, equipment, calibration, maintenance, and work order data into Blue Mountain RAM R4. This includes:
- Data extraction
- Cleansing
- Mapping
- Transformation
- Loading
- Data Mapping: Build and maintain field-level data mapping documents between the legacy system and R4. Identify gaps, duplicates, and conversion rules.
- Data Verification: Perform detailed pre- and post-migration data verification and reconciliation, including record counts, field-by-field checks, and sample reviews, to confirm migrated data is complete and accurate.
- Data Cleansing: Find and resolve data quality issues such as missing fields, inconsistent naming, incorrect calibration intervals, and obsolete assets. Work with data owners to correct them before conversion.
- Implementation & Configuration: Support R4 implementation activities, including system configuration, asset hierarchy setup, PM and calibration schedule setup, and user roles.
- Testing & Cutover: Support test migrations (mock loads), user acceptance testing, cutover planning, go-live, and post-go-live hypercare.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Metrology, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and IT to confirm data requirements and resolve discrepancies.
- Support CSV deliverables related to the migration and upgrade, including:
- Data migration plans and reports
- Test scripts
- Traceability
- Summary documentation
- Execute and document data migration verification protocols in line with GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and ALCOA+ data integrity principles.
- Support change control and deviation documentation tied to migration activities.
- 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device manufacturing in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience with Blue Mountain RAM, specifically data migration, data conversion, or implementation.
- Proven experience verifying and reconciling large data sets during a system migration or upgrade.
- Strong understanding of calibration and maintenance data, including assets, calibration intervals, tolerances, PM schedules, and work order history.
- Working knowledge of CSV principles, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and data integrity (ALCOA+).
- Advanced Excel skills. Experience with SQL or other data tools is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Metrology, and IT.
- Experience on a Blue Mountain RAM R4 upgrade or migration.
- Experience migrating data from other CMMS or calibration systems into Blue Mountain, such as Maximo, ProCal, or SAP PM.
- Background in metrology, calibration, or maintenance programs.
- Experience writing or executing data migration verification protocols.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Life Sciences, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
