Role Description:
Work with functional resources to develop the logical and physical data model for the “Silver” and “Gold” layer of a Lakehouse architecture on Snowflake. Define the data modeling approaches for each layer, and identify practices to make the models extensible. Analyze existing data model to identify inefficiencies, and bring in leading practices perspective for Finance Data Modeling
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop logical and physical data model for “Silver” and “Gold” layer of a medallion data warehouse architecture. Look at the client’s existing data model and assess for “fit for use”. Lead client workshops to understand pain points with current state and develop a future state Finance data model, primarily with General Ledger and Trial Balance data.
Required qualifications, skills or experience needed: Developing “Gold”and “Silver” layer data models for the finance domain, especially General Ledger and Trial Balance data. Experience in modelling data ingested from sources such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards. Experience using various data modelling tools. Firm grasp of various data modelling practices (e.g., 3NF, Snowflake, Star) and ability to customize a data model to meet the client requirements. Define leading practices for data modeling by each layer of the medallion architecture. Bring thought leadership and direction to the working sessions (not just take input to create the model), Familiarity with Snowflake preferred.
