Job Description:
Role Overview
We are seeking an experiencedBid Manager to lead the end-to-end bid and proposal management lifecycle while supporting sales teams in developing competitive, commercially viable, and high-quality proposals.
The role will work closely with Sales, Presales, Technical, Finance, Legal, Procurement, Operations, and other stakeholders to understand customer requirements, develop bid strategies, manage pricing and commercial models, and ensure timely and compliant submissions.
The Bid Manager will also contribute tosales enablement, performance analysis, process improvement, and the adoption of technology and automation to improve sales and bidding effectiveness.
Essential Job Functions
Bid & Proposal Management
- Lead theend-to-end bid management process, from opportunity qualification and bid/no-bid assessment through proposal development, submission, negotiation, and handover.
- Review and analyzeRFPs, RFQs, tenders, and customer requirements, identifying technical, commercial, contractual, and compliance requirements.
- Develop bid strategies, bid plans, compliance matrices, submission checklists, and timelines.
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure all technical, commercial, financial, and contractual inputs are delivered accurately and on time.
- Manage the preparation, consolidation, and quality review of technical and commercial proposals.
- Ensure bids comply with customer requirements, internal governance, approval processes, and applicable policies.
- Coordinate responses to customer clarifications, amendments, and additional requirements throughout the bid lifecycle.
- Support commercial and contractual negotiations related to pricing, scope, delivery, payment terms, and other commercial conditions.
Pricing & Commercial Management
- Develop and validatepricing models, cost structures, P&L scenarios, profitability analysis, and risk assessments.
- Evaluate direct and indirect project costs, including logistics, transportation, installation, training, warranty, customs, financing, and other applicable costs.
- Work closely with Sales and Finance teams to establishcompetitive pricing and target margins.
- Identify commercial risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Support internal pricing and commercial approvals in accordance with the company'sDelegation of Authority (DoA/LoA) requirements.
- Analyze market and competitor information to support pricing and bid strategy decisions.
Sales Enablement & Business Support
- Support the development and execution ofsales enablement initiatives aligned with business and sales objectives.
- Partner with Sales leaders to identify opportunities for improving the bid and sales process.
- Support the development ofsales and bid-related training materials, tools, templates, and best practices.
- Provide Sales teams with guidance on bid strategy, proposal requirements, pricing approaches, and submission processes.
- Analyze sales, bid, pipeline, and win/loss data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and potential process gaps.
- Prepare regular management reports coveringbid pipeline, submissions, win rates, profitability, pricing, and overall bid performance.
- Monitor the effectiveness of sales and bid enablement initiatives and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Technology, Automation & Process Improvement
- Support the selection, implementation, and adoption ofbid management, CRM, CPQ, ERP, and sales enablement technologies.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive bidding, pricing, reporting, and data-management activities.
- Work with relevant teams to improve bid processes throughdigitalization, automation, data analytics, and standardized tools.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and analytical reports to support data-driven decision-making.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve bid cycle time, pricing accuracy, proposal quality, and overall sales effectiveness.
Stakeholder & Team Management
- Collaborate effectively withSales, Presales, Technical, Finance, Legal, Procurement, Operations, and senior leadership.
- Orchestrate multiple stakeholders and ensure clear ownership, accountability, and timely delivery of bid inputs.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, partners, and vendors.
- May provide guidance and support to junior Bid/Proposal professionals or manage a small team, depending on business requirements.
- Escalate critical commercial, technical, contractual, or pricing issues to the appropriate management level.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree inbusiness administration, Engineering, Science, Information Technology, or another relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically,6+ years of relevant professional experience, with at least2+ years in Bid Management, Tender Management, Proposal Management, Commercial Management, Pricing, Sales, or a similar role.
- Proven experience managingcomplex bids, tenders, RFPs, and commercial proposals.
- Strong understanding ofbid strategy, pricing, commercial analysis, and proposal development.
- Experience working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Strong experience in stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, and project coordination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong proficiency inMicrosoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent command ofEnglish and Arabic, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience inTechnology, ICT, Oil & Gas, Energy, Engineering, Infrastructure, MedTech, or other technical industries.
- Experience withSales Enablement, Sales Operations, Presales, or Commercial Operations.
- Experience withCRM, CPQ, ERP, Bid Management, or Sales Enablement platforms.
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such asPower BI, SQL, Python, or similar technologies.
- Experience in process automation, digital transformation, or data-driven decision-making.
- APMP, CSP, CSEP, or other relevant professional certifications are a plus.
- Experience managing high-value, multi-country, or multi-stakeholder bids is highly desirable.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.
