Youth Sports Official

Position Summary:

A Youth Sports Official ensures that youth sporting events are conducted in a fair, safe, and enjoyable manner. They enforce game rules, promote good sportsmanship, and create a positive environment for players, coaches, and spectators.  Volleyball, Basketball, Indoor Soccer, and Softball are sports we are in search of for youth sports officials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Officiate games according to the rules and regulations of the sport.
• Ensure player safety by monitoring conduct and enforcing safety guidelines.
• Maintain control of the game while fostering a respectful and encouraging atmosphere.
• Communicate clearly with coaches, players, and spectators regarding calls and rules.
• Keep accurate records of scores, fouls, and other game statistics.
• Arrive on time, prepared with necessary equipment and proper attire.
• Report any incidents, injuries, or rule violations to the appropriate supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the sport’s rules and regulations.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to remain calm and impartial under pressure.
• Physical ability to move quickly and maintain focus for the duration of the game.
• Prior officiating experience preferred, but training may be provided.

Work Environment:

• Indoor or outdoor sports facilities.
• Evening and weekend availability often required.
• May involve standing, running, and lifting equipment.
