Position Summary

Waynesborough Country Club is seeking an energetic, organized, and hands-on Beverage Manager to lead our club-wide beverage operations, bar staff development, and venue execution. Working directly with the Assistant General Manager and Food & Beverage leadership team, the Beverage Manager is responsible for setting the standard of excellence across all Ă  la carte bars, seasonal outlets, and banquet facilities.

This role requires a proactive leader who excels at operational foresight—anticipating event staffing needs weeks in advance, maintaining optimal inventory pars, and ensuring our bar spaces are impeccably clean, staged, and fully stocked. The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator committed to training and elevating our bartending team while maintaining high visibility on the floor to engage with our membership.

Core Pillars of Responsibility

I. Bartender Training & Service Standards

  • Technical & Service Mentorship: Lead the ongoing training and development of all bartenders and beverage service staff, focusing on mixology, wine knowledge, pour controls, glassware standards, and elevated hospitality.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Draft, implement, and enforce daily opening, mid-shift, and closing checklists across all bar outlets to guarantee consistency, proper side-work completion, and efficient execution.
  • On-the-Floor Leadership: Maintain a strong, hands-on presence during peak meal periods and major events—leading by example, monitoring service flow, and ensuring prompt, personalized member recognition.
  • Compliance & Safety: Enforce strict adherence to PA RAMP, ServSafe, and local liquor laws, ensuring all beverage personnel act responsibly and maintain high safety standards.

II. Proactive Event Planning, Staffing & Inventory Forecasting

  • Forward-Looking Roster Management: Regularly review upcoming Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), club social calendars, and seasonal dining trends to build proactive, optimized bartender and service schedules—eliminating last-minute staffing shortages.
  • Stocking & Asset Readiness: Forecast beverage volume for upcoming banquets and high-volume member nights to ensure all bars are fully stocked with correct par levels, specialized spirits, wines, and event-specific garnishes well before service begins.
  • Inventory Control & Purchasing: Oversee weekly and monthly beverage inventory audits, cost-of-goods tracking, and vendor ordering. Implement strict waste-reduction strategies, spillage tracking, and draft-system maintenance.
  • POS & System Integrity: Maintain accurate pricing, button layouts, and inventory tracking within the Jonas POS system, assisting in smooth post-event billing and close-outs.

III. Bar Sanitation, Staging & Venue Integrity

  • Meticulous Outlet Staging: Guarantee that every bar outlet (Ă  la carte, seasonal, and banquet bars) maintains an exceptional level of cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal at all times.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the routine cleaning, sanitization, and maintenance of draft lines, refrigeration units, ice machines, speed rails, and back-bar displays.
  • Member Engagement & Menus: Collaborate with F&B leadership to refresh cocktail lists, craft beer offerings, and wine selections to match seasonal member preferences, hosting occasional wine dinners and tasting events.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Competitive Annual Salary: $70,000 – $75,000
  • Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with generous Club Matching
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and Vacation Allowance

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of progressive hospitality leadership experience in a high-volume private club, luxury resort, or upscale restaurant environment with a heavy focus on bar operations.
  • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of spirits, wine service, craft beer systems, mixology, and inventory management principles.
  • Systems Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and POS experience (Jonas Club Software experience is a strong plus).
