Houseman / Cook - Kensington

Bespoke Britannia is recruiting on behalf of a private family in Kensington, London. They are seeking a dedicated Houseman / Cook to join their established household team on a full-time, live-out basis.

This is a hybrid role combining cooking with general household duties. The family is not necessarily seeking a formally trained Butler. Instead, they want a reliable, proactive and versatile individual who takes pride in maintaining a beautifully kept home and preparing fresh, healthy meals. Applications are welcome from both junior and senior candidates, and the salary will reflect experience.

The position would suit someone with a proven background in private households. You should understand the discretion such roles require and work well alongside existing household staff.

The Role
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Planning and preparing fresh, healthy meals for the family, with an emphasis on Mediterranean cuisine

• Cooking a varied European repertoire, particularly Spanish, Italian and Portuguese dishes

• Maintaining kitchen organisation, food storage, hygiene and stock levels

• General cleaning and upkeep of the home to an exceptionally high standard

• Assisting with general household maintenance and minor tasks

• Driving for household errands as required

• Travelling internationally with the family for extended periods when required

• Working collaboratively with the existing household team to ensure the smooth running of the home

• Proven experience within private households, ideally in a Houseman, Cook or combined role

• Strong cooking skills, with experience in Mediterranean and healthy cuisine

• Experience of Spanish, Italian or Portuguese cooking is highly desirable

• Reliable, proactive and adaptable, with a willingness to turn your hand to a variety of tasks

• Discreet, trustworthy and professional at all times

• Fluent English

• Full UK driving licence

• Right to work in the UK 

• Valid passport and availability for long-term international travel

• Excellent, verifiable references

Package

£50,000 - £60,000 gross per annum, depending on experience

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm

Weekends off

Live-out position (accommodation and meals are not provided)
