Canadian Health & Benefits – Benefits & Programs Specialist
Overview
We are seeking a Benefits & Programs Specialist to support health and welfare programs across Canada. This role will focus on benefits administration, compliance, and employee support, while partnering closely with vendors, HR, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of services.
This is a high-impact, front-facing role requiring fluency in both Canadian French and English, along with strong knowledge of Canadian benefits programs and regional nuances (e.g., Quebec regulations).
Key Responsibilities
- Administer Canadian health & welfare benefit programs, including eligibility, enrollment, deductions, and compliance
- Support leave programs, disability, vacation, and benefits-related policies
- Serve as a key point of contact for employees, HR partners, and vendors
- Manage and resolve escalated benefits issues and service requests
- Perform day-to-day processing activities (case management, reporting, transactions)
- Partner with vendors/TPAs to ensure service delivery and issue resolution
- Support annual enrollment, audits, handbook updates, and regulatory communications
- Maintain and improve standard work, lean boards, and operational processes
- Use data and reporting to drive process improvements and service efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in Canadian French and English (written and verbal) – must be fully fluent
- 3–7+ years of experience in Canadian benefits administration
- Strong knowledge of Canadian benefits programs, compliance, and regional requirements
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and outsourced vendors
- Ability to manage both employee-facing support and backend processing
- Strong analytical skills and compliance mindset
- Experience handling escalations and service delivery in an HR/shared services environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Quebec-based employees or programs
- Exposure to process improvement / lean methodologies
- Experience in a global or matrixed organization
