About your Team:
We are looking for a hands-on Benefits and Payroll Leader who has a strong foundation in U.S. benefits administration and is ready to take the next step in their career.
This role is ideal for someone who has already gained meaningful experience managing benefits processes but is still looking to grow, broaden their responsibilities, and develop into a stronger benefits and HR operations leader.
The individual will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of our U.S. benefits programs, including enrollment, employee support, leave administration, vendor coordination, billing and reconciliation. This is a hands-on role, and we are looking for someone who is comfortable getting into the details and personally resolving issues rather than only overseeing the work.
In addition to benefits responsibilities, this individual will serve as theprimary backup for U.S. payroll. Prior hands-on U.S. payroll experience is therefore important. The individual should understand the payroll process well enough to step in and support payroll processing, review payroll data, troubleshoot issues, and help ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time when primary payroll resources are unavailable.
The Person We’re Looking For:
We are not necessarily looking for someone who has already done everything or has reached the most senior level of their career.
We want someone with a strong foundation who is hungry to learn, willing to roll up their sleeves, and interested in growing their career. The right candidate will have enough experience to independently manage core benefits responsibilities while still being excited to learn new areas, take on broader responsibilities and develop alongside a growing HR organization.
They should be equally comfortable talking with an employee about a benefit issue, reconciling an invoice, working through a leave situation, or stepping into the U.S. payroll process when needed. While benefits will be a significant part of the role, this person will also become a key part of our payroll coverage model and should be comfortable taking ownership when serving as the primary payroll backup.
What will be your responsibilities within IBKR:
- Manage the day-to-day administration of U.S. medical, dental, vision, life, disability and other employee benefit programs.
- Support and help lead annual open enrollment, including employee communications, system testing, enrollment support and vendor coordination.
- Process and oversee new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations and other benefit changes.
- Manage employee leaves, including FMLA, disability, parental and other applicable leave programs.
- Serve as a key resource for employees with benefit questions and help resolve more complex enrollment or coverage issues.
- Review and reconcile benefit invoices and work directly with vendors to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate eligibility and enrollment data and perform regular audits and reconciliations.
What required skill you need:
- Approximately 4–7 years of HR experience, with meaningful hands-on experience in U.S. benefits administration.
- Experience administering health and welfare benefits from enrollment through ongoing employee support.
- Experience with leave administration.
- Experience reviewing and reconciling benefit invoices.
- Prior hands-on U.S. payroll experience, with the ability to step in as the primary backup for payroll processing.
- Working knowledge of payroll concepts such as earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits deductions, payroll adjustments and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data, reconciliations and employee records.
- Ability to independently research and resolve employee and vendor issues.
- Strong communication and employee service skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change.
- Demonstrated interest in learning and taking on increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience with Dayforce is a plus.
- Experience with HR systems, reporting, integrations or process automation is also a plus.
To be successful in this position, you will have the following:
- Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision.
- Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication (Verbal and written) skills.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
