Mill Maintenance Superintendent

Role Summary
Lead and coordinate mill mechanical maintenance and planning activities to maximize plant availability, equipment reliability, and production performance while ensuring safe and cost-effective use of resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical maintenance and planning activities to maximize plant availability and control costs.

• Develop and implement maintenance procedures, standards, and best practices for mill equipment.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical equipment failures and repairs.

• Ensure adequate manpower, training, equipment, and resources are available to meet maintenance requirements.

• Coordinate mechanical activities with other departments and support mill projects, equipment installation, repair, and rebuilds.

• Monitor maintenance performance, conduct equipment audits, and drive continuous improvement.

• Lead and develop the mechanical team, promoting safety, teamwork, accountability, and performance.

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field, or relevant trade/technical qualification.

• Minimum 10 years of mechanical, engineering, maintenance, or planning experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

• Strong experience in mill mechanical equipment, including grinding, pumping, conveying, hydraulics, and maintenance systems.

• Strong troubleshooting and maintenance management skills.

• Experience in remote or international mining operations is an advantage.

• Proficient in MS Office and maintenance/planning software; knowledge of Oracle and AutoCAD is an advantage.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
