Join Sentara Health’s interdisciplinaryConsultation-Liaison Psychiatry team, providing expert psychiatric care to medically complex and emergent patients across Sentara’s facilities. You’ll work closely with ED, medical, and surgical teams, supported by licensed therapists, behavioral health navigators, and a systemwide psychiatric response network.

Practice Highlights

• Primary assignment: Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center (Woodbridge, VA)  
• Schedule:7 on/ 7 off (7a-7p)
• Daily co-management of ED behavioral health patients
• Inpatient consults on behavioral, medical, and surgical units
• Virtual consult support to Sentara Rockingham Memorial Center, and Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital
• No inpatient psych admissions (handled by dedicated inpatient psychiatrists)
• Strong interdisciplinary support: APPs, therapists, navigators, case managers

Key Responsibilities

• Psychiatric consultation for complex medical and co-occurring conditions
• Diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning
• Medication management and crisis intervention
• Collaborative, team-based care across hospital services
• Supervision of APPs and students as needed
