Thisentry-levelpositionprovideshands-onexperienceinappliedbehavioranalysis(ABA).NopriorABAexperienceisrequired.AspireLiving&Learningprovidescomprehensiveon-the-jobtraining,ongoingsupervision,andsupporttohelpqualifiedemployeespursueRegisteredBehaviorTechnician(RBT)certification.

Experienceincustomerservice,sales,education,healthcare,business,humanservices,marketing,communications,maintenance,government,oranotherfieldmaybevaluableinthisrole.

AbouttheBehaviorTherapistRole

BehaviorTherapistsworkunderthesupervisionofaBoardCertifiedBehaviorAnalyst(BCBA)and/orspecialeducationteacher.Youwillimplementindividualizedbehaviorsupportplans,educationplans,andserviceagreementswhilehelpingclientsdevelopcommunication,social,academic,motor,anddailylivingskills.

Clientsmaydemonstratemildtoseverebehavioralchallenges,includingaggressiveorself-injuriousbehavior.Therolerequirespatience,emotionalmaturity,physicalfitness,attentiontodetail,andtheabilitytoremaincalminhigh-pressuresituations.

KeyResponsibilities

• Implementindividualizedbehaviorsupportplansusingappliedbehavioranalysistechniques
• Teachcommunication,social,motor,play,cognitive,andself-careskills
• Supportclientswithdailylivingandpersonalcareroutines
• Reducechallengingbehaviorsthroughapprovedinterventionstrategies
• Collectaccuratedataonbehavior,progress,andskilldevelopment
• Followwrittentreatmentplans,protocols,andsafetyprocedures
• Useprompting,discretetrialteaching,andnaturalisticlearningtechniques
• Applyprevention,redirection,andphysicalinterventionprocedureswhennecessaryandproperlytrained
• Maintainfocusandattentionforextendedperiods
• Collaboratewithbehavioranalysts,specialeducationteachers,families,andotherteammembers
• Participateinteammeetings,trainingsessions,andongoingsupervision
• Adapttodailyschedulechangesandchangingclientneeds

Qualifications

• Bachelor’sdegreepreferred;acombinationofcollegecourseworkandrelevantexperiencemaybeconsidered
• PreviousexperienceinABA,education,healthcare,humanservices,behavioralhealth,ordirectsupportishelpfulbutnotrequired
• Validdriver’slicense
• Reliabletransportation
• Proofofautomobileinsurance
• Vehiclecapableoftransportingclientsinthebackseat
• Abilitytotravelwithinapproximately45minutesofWindsor,Vermont
• Abilitytopassabackgroundcheck
