This role ensures products are delivered safely, on time, at the required quality level, and in a scalable manner as the company grows.

The ideal candidate combines strong manufacturing discipline with practical experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume production environments, preferably involving robotics, electronics, marine systems, or other complex electromechanical products.

Production Planning and Execution

  • Lead daily production operations across assembly, integration, and manufacturing support activities.
  • Develop and manage production schedules based on delivery priorities, engineering readiness, material availability, and manpower capacity.
  • Ensure on-time completion of builds, rework, and production-related milestones.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, supply chain, quality, and testing teams to remove bottlenecks and maintain production flow.

Team Leadership

  • Manage, coach, and develop technicians, assemblers, and production support staff.
  • Build a high-performance production culture focused on accountability, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Plan manpower allocation effectively across production stages and shifting priorities.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of production personnel.

Manufacturing Quality and Process Control

  • Establish and enforce robust assembly and workmanship standards.
  • Work with engineering and quality teams to implement work instructions, SOPs, checklists, and inspection gates.
  • Ensure production records, traceability, and documentation are complete and accurate.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for defects, failures, and recurring build issues.
  • Support supplier quality feedback loops and internal non-conformance management.

New Product Introduction and Scale-Up

  • Partner with engineering teams on prototype-to-production transition and NPI activities.
  • Improve manufacturability, repeatability, and production readiness of new products and revisions.
  • Identify tooling, fixtures, layout, and process improvements needed for scale.
  • Support configuration control and change implementation for product updates.

Testing and Operational Readiness

  • Coordinate with testing teams to ensure systems are build-ready for functional, pressure, and wet testing.
  • Ensure production output meets defined acceptance criteria before transfer to test or deployment preparation.
  • Support investigation of production-related failures found during test or field deployment.

Inventory, Materials, and Resource Management

  • Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure material readiness and minimize shortages.
  • Monitor WIP, inventory usage, and critical part constraints affecting build schedules.
  • Help define reorder signals, kit readiness processes, and production staging practices.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive Lean, 5S, visual management, and process efficiency improvements across the production floor.
  • Improve layout, workstation design, tool control, and material flow.
  • Define and track KPIs such as output, first-pass yield, rework rate, schedule adherence, and labor efficiency.
  • Lead initiatives that improve throughput, quality, and cost performance.
  • Safety and Compliance
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and disciplined production environment.
  • Enforce EHS practices relevant to assembly, lifting, power tools, electrical integration, pressure-related preparations, and wet test support.
  • Ensure production activities comply with internal standards and applicable regulatory or customer requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, or operations management.
  • Experience managing production teams in electromechanical, robotics, marine, aerospace, automotive, or other complex hardware environments.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, assembly control, quality systems, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production reporting, and inventory coordination.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, assembly documentation, and revision-controlled instructions.
  • Strong people leadership and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a practical, hands-on approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in underwater systems, marine technology, robotics, industrial equipment, or mission-critical hardware.
  • Familiarity with low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement tools.
