We work directly with different industries including Automotive, Energy, Aeronautics, Banking & Insurance, Telecom & Multimedia, and Rail; offering services ranging from project design development to test/validation, programming, implementation, and manufacturing.

ALTEN Mexico as a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group. Currently working with international clients, and we are looking forMechanical Engineers who will contribute to the development of anIron Air Battery, a large-scale energy storage solution, to design and optimize themechanical, thermal, plastics, and electrical routing systems of the Iron Air Battery to ensure functionality, durability, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designmechanical, thermal, and plastic components (e.g., structures, radiators, housings, ducts).
  • Performthermal, structural, and fatigue analyses to ensure component integrity.
  • Optimize designs forweight reduction, cost efficiency, and manufacturability (DFM/DFA).
  • Develop2D/3D technical drawings and documentation (BOM, GD&T).
  • Validate designs throughphysical testing (e.g., load, vibration, corrosion tests).
  • Integratemechanical, thermal, and electrical systems to ensure overall functionality.
  • Collaborate withCAE, EE, and manufacturing teams to align designs with project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance withsafety and industry standards (e.g., UL, IEC, ASME).

Must‑Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree inMechanical, Chemical,Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineeringor related fields.
  • Proficiency inSolidWorks.
  • Experience using theGoogle Suite.

For Thermal:

  • Knowledge ofthermal system design (e.g., radiators, cooling systems, heat dissipation).
  • Familiarity withthermal safety standards (e.g., UL 94, IEC 60695).

ForMechanical:

  • Experience withFEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) for structural and fatigue analysis.
  • Knowledge ofGD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) andDFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly).
  • Ability to generate2D/3D technical drawingsandBOM (Bill of Materials).
  • Knowledge ofplastic materials (e.g., polypropylene, ABS, PEEK) and their properties.
  • Familiarity withmanufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, thermoforming).

ForRouting/Electrical Packaging:

  • Knowledge ofwiring standards (e.g., IPC-A-620).
  • Ability to designcable routing and harness systems that avoid interference with mechanical/thermal components.

English level B2–C1.

Preferred Skills

Industry Knowledge:

  • Experience in energy storage systems (e.g., batteries, iron-air technology).
  • Familiarity with large-scale mechanical or industrial projects.

Software and Tools:

  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for automation or data analysis.
  • Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems (e.g., TeamCenter, Windchill).

Standards and Compliance:

  • Knowledge of safety and industry standards (e.g., NFPA 69, IEC 62485, ASME, ISO).
  • Experience in certification processes (e.g., UL, IEC, CE).

Innovation and Optimization:

  • Experience in design optimization (e.g., topology optimization, weight reduction).
  • Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly design practices.

Manufacturing and Materials:

  • Understanding of advanced manufacturing processes (e.g., additive manufacturing, CNC machining).
  • Knowledge of material selection for extreme environments (e.g., corrosion resistance, high-temperature materials).
