Batching Specialist (AI-Enabled)

The Batching Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, organization, and processing of transaction batches. This role supports the Accounting and Compensation teams by ensuring data accuracy, maintaining organized records, and complying with internal controls and processing standards. 

Key Responsibilities 

AI transaction validation 

• Extract transaction details from documents and spreadsheets. 

• Check required fields, supporting documents, and authorization indicators. 

• Flag incomplete, duplicate, or potentially incorrect transactions before batching. 

Intelligent batch preparation 

• Automatically group transactions according to business rules. 

• Calculate batch totals and item counts. 

• Generate batch summaries and upload-ready files. 

AI reconciliation 

• Compare source records against batch totals and system reports. 

• Identify missing, duplicated, or mismatched transactions. 

• Explain discrepancies and recommend corrective actions for human review. 

Audit and reporting assistant 

• Maintain searchable batching logs and supporting documentation. 

• Draft daily, month-end, and year-end reports. 

• Answer questions about batch history using authorized records.

Qualifications

• Working proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience automating data processing, validating transaction records, and reconciling large datasets. 

• Familiarity with AI-powered tools, such as Claude & Python to support document review, data analysis, discrepancy investigation, and report preparation. 

• Ability to identify data inconsistencies, investigate transaction discrepancies, and apply established business rules to ensure accuracy. 

• Basic understanding of data processing automation, including automated workflows, spreadsheet automation, or AI-assisted data processing. 

• Ability to validate AI-generated outputs and independently verify data, calculations, and supporting documentation. 

• Strong understanding of data confidentiality, information security, internal controls, and responsible use of AI tools when handling sensitive financial information. 

• Ability to learn and adapt to systems, AI platforms, and emerging AI-enabled technologies. 

Preferred Skills 

1. AI proficiency — Experience using Claude, Python or similar AI tools to support transaction processing and data analysis. 

1. Automation and efficiency — Familiarity with tools that automate repetitive data entry, validation, and reporting tasks. 

1. Data accuracy and validation — Ability to independently verify AI-assisted outputs and ensure compliance with accounting procedures. 

1. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting strict deadlines. 

1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve transaction discrepancies. 

1. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data validation.
