Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate, New York

Position Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a skilledBankruptcy & Restructuring Associate to join its New York office. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of relevant experience handling both in-court and out-of-court restructuring matters, with experience representing debtors and creditors' committees strongly preferred.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, research, legal writing, and communication skills, along with a solid academic background.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with bankruptcy proceedings and corporate restructuring matters, including in-court and out-of-court engagements.

• Advise and represent debtors and creditors in restructuring and insolvency matters.

• Support creditors' committee representation and related bankruptcy proceedings.

• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and other legal documents.

• Analyze complex financial and legal issues relating to distressed businesses and insolvency.

• Collaborate with partners and other team members to deliver high-quality legal services to clients.

Required Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, or insolvency law.

• Experience with both in-court and out-of-court restructurings.

• Experience representing debtors and/or creditors' committees strongly preferred.

• Admission to practice law inNew York and New Jersey.

• Strong academic credentials.

• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.

Compensation

The anticipated annual salary range is$195,000–$215,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
