Bank Intern
General Description of Position:
The Bank Intern position is designed to provide college students with a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to the banking industry and the many career opportunities within the organization. Through a three-week rotation across Bank departments, Interns will gain exposure to the functions, responsibilities, and collaboration that contribute to the Bank’s success. Following the rotation, Interns will be assigned to a specific department where they will take on meaningful responsibilities, support projects, and further develop their professional skills.Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Â
- Learn how each department contributes to the Bank’s overall success
- See how departments collaborate and depend on one another
- Gain exposure to a variety of banking careers and career paths
- Ask questions, build relationships, and start developing your professional network
- Assist with department projects and initiatives
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Work alongside experienced team members
- Develop practical business and banking knowledge
- Participate in meetings and department activities
- Strengthen your communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Gain experience you can take with you into your future career
- Attend Bank events as requested
Additional Information:Â
Must provide excellent customer service consistent with Service with HEART standards to all customers - internal and external. Must maintain confidentiality of customer and bank information at all times. Must comply with all internal controls and established bank policies and procedures at all times. Will have the opportunity to represent the Bank at community events and in civic organizations.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:Â
Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college.
Additional Qualifications:Â
Must be a full-time college student, able to work 40 hours per week during the months of June and July.Â
