The Ballistics Analyst II will support the research, design, analysis, test, and evaluation efforts that define the performance of the next generation of SRM technologies. The analyst will help provide technical analysis results, inputs to design & manufacturing, and deliver innovative solutions to the complex ballistic and energetic challenges facing the industry.Â
Key Responsibilities:Â
- Perform ballistics analysis to meet programmatic requirements and inform/validate designÂ
- Develop, refine and validate computational methods and tools to predict and analyze propellant performance and rocket motor ballistic performanceÂ
- Perform test data review and be capable of drawing meaningful design conclusionsÂ
- Assist in preparing and presenting technical ballistic results to government partners and customers with the ability to explain the resultsÂ
- Support in the formulation, characterization, modeling and testing of energetic materialsÂ
- Support rapid response failure investigations, failure analysis and facilitate production deviation closures with meeting engineering requirements and mission objectivesÂ
- Organize/prepare/present major program efforts and findings to internal and external customers, including government and commercial entitiesÂ
- Other duties as assignedÂ
Required QualificationsÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace EngineeringÂ
- 2+ years of experience in the field of Solid Rocket Motors or energeticsÂ
- Demonstrated technical work experience in energetics performance analysisÂ
- Experience with experimental design and data analysisÂ
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, interfacing with internal/external customersÂ
- Proficiency in CLWire, SPP, or similar ballistic analysis toolsÂ
- Proficiency in Matlab, Python, C++, Fortran, or similar programming languagesÂ
- This position requires that the employee be eligible and maintain eligibility for a Secret ClearanceÂ
Desired ExperienceÂ
- Master’s degree in technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace EngineeringÂ
- Technical knowledge of rocket motor components and processesÂ
- Hands-on experience with program/project work in applied R&D and/or production supportÂ
- Experience with dynamic controls theoryÂ
- Familiarity with combustion instability phenomenaÂ

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $82,000 - $102,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. What wecan’t quantify for you are the exciting challenges, supportive team, and amazing culture we enjoy.Â
