Join us as aBackend Engineer Intern and help build the financial features our customers use every day. You'll work in a squad with full ownership of its product scope, learning on real production code with senior engineers. This is an end-of-studies internship, though strong candidates at any level are welcome.
ā”ļøWhat you'll do
- Ship real features: You'll build and release features such as card authorization, transfers, onboarding or our payment gateway.
- Join the team from day one: You'll take part in the dailies and the team's regular processes like any other engineer.
- Learn from a dedicated mentor: A senior backend engineer will coach you through weekly one-on-ones and continuous feedback.
- Read, write and review production code: You'll work in Go and Ruby, using AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilotā¦) to learn and build faster.
- Shape what you build: You'll join product discussions with Tech, Product and Design and help influence the direction of your features.
- Curiosity: You're eager to learn and comfortable navigating complexity.
- Openness to feedback: You take feedback well and use it to grow quickly.
- Coding basics: You know the basics of coding in any language and of SQL.
- AI-native workflow: You already use AI to build, debug and learn faster.
- English: You're comfortable working in English.
- A senior mentor: You get one-on-one time every week with an experienced engineer.
- Direct access to your manager: You have a manager you can go to throughout your internship, beyond your mentor.
- An AI-first environment: AI is part of how the whole team builds, from day one.
- Onboarding: A dedicated learning program, documentation, pair programming and your mentor will get you up to speed quickly.
You'll join one of Qonto's backend squads. Each squad has full ownership of its product scope and works with Product and Design. You'll be part of a 190+ backend engineering community, from all over the world.
