The role

We are looking for a **Backend Engineer Intern** who is passionate about coding, problem-solving, and building scalable applications. You will work closely with our engineering team to develop backend services, build APIs, and contribute to real-world projects powering Clinikally's digital health and e-commerce platform.\This internship offers hands-on exposure to modern backend technologies, system architecture, and production-level engineering in a fast-paced startupKey Responsibilities* Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining **backend services and RESTful APIs**.* Write **clean, efficient, and maintainable code** using Python and TypeScript.* Support the development of backend systems for **teleconsultations, e-commerce, and logistics workflows**.* Work with **databases such as PostgreSQL and Redis** for data storage and retrieval.* Assist in integrating backend services with third-party APIs and internal applications.* Identify, debug, and resolve technical issues with guidance from senior engineers.* Collaborate with **frontend, product, and engineering teams** to develop and deliver new features.* Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation.* Learn and implement best practices for backend development, performance, and security.Requirements* Currently pursuing or recently completed a [**B.Tech/B.E**](http://B.Tech/B.E)**. in Computer Science, IT, or a related field**.* Good understanding of **Python and/or TypeScript**.* Basic knowledge of **REST APIs, databases, and backend development concepts**.* Familiarity with **SQL and relational databases**.* Understanding of **Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Programming**.* Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and **problem-solving skills**.* Willingness to learn new technologies and work on real-world engineering challenges.* Comfortable working in a **fast-paced startup environment**.Good to Have* Exposure to backend frameworks such as **FastAPI, NestJS, or similar frameworks**.* Familiarity with **PostgreSQL, Redis, or other databases**.* Basic understanding of **microservices architecture and asynchronous processing**.* Knowledge of **Git, Docker, or AWS**.* Previous internships, academic projects, or personal projects involving backend development.Backend Tech Stack* **Languages:** TypeScript, Python* **Frameworks:** FastAPI (primary), NestJS (selective)* **Architecture:** Microservices, API-first design* **Databases:** PostgreSQL, Redis* **Async & Queues:** RabbitMQ, SQS* **Infrastructure:** Docker, AWS (ECS/EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, S3)* **Auth & Security:** JWT, RBAC, HMAC webhooks* **Observability:** Logs, APM, metricsWhat You'll Gain* Hands-on experience working on **live backend systems and production-level projects**.* Mentorship and guidance from experienced software engineers.* Exposure to **scalable architecture, APIs, databases, and cloud technologies**.* Opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to meaningful product features.* Practical understanding of software development practices in a high-growth startup.
