Backend Developer Intern – Generative AI & LLMs

About the Role

We are looking for aBackend Developer Intern with strong Python skills and an interest inGenerative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). You will work on building backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, and AI-powered applications.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work on real-world projects, collaborate with frontend and AI teams, and gain experience in building scalable, production-ready backend solutions.

Internship Details

• Engagement: Part-time / Full-time Internship

• Duration: 3 months with the possibility of extension based on performance and requirements

• Location: Remote, India

• Stipend: ₹10,000–₹15,000/month, based on experience and performance

• Full-time Opportunity: Strong performers may have an opportunity to transition to a full-time role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications usingPython.

• Build and optimize RESTful APIs usingFastAPI or similar frameworks.

• Develop integrations with third-party services and AI/LLM providers.

• Design and manage databases, write efficient SQL queries, and optimize application performance.

• Build backend systems supporting AI-powered features such aschatbots, agents, and document-processing workflows.

• Collaborate with frontend developers, product teams, and AI engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Participate in deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of backend systems.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency inPython.

• Experience building and consumingREST APIs.

• Hands-on experience withFastAPI, Flask, or Django.

• Good understanding of SQL databases such asPostgreSQL or MySQL.

• Understanding of backend architecture, software design principles, and basic system design.

• Familiarity withGit and modern development workflows.

• Basic understanding of cloud platforms and deployment processes.

• Understanding of authentication, authorization, caching, and backend security practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience or project exposure toGenerative AI and LLMs.

• Familiarity withOpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar AI APIs.

• Understanding ofRAG, vector databases, and embeddings.

• Basic knowledge ofDocker, CI/CD, and cloud deployments.

• Familiarity withReact or modern frontend frameworks.

• Exposure to message queues, background jobs, or event-driven architectures.
