Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Develop backend functionality for equipment monitoring, operational dashboards, downtime events, comments, acknowledgements and notifications.
• Design and implement services for receiving and processing data from MQTT brokers, industrial systems or external data sources.
• Implement background processing services for message consumption, event processing and scheduled tasks.
• Design near-real-time data delivery using REST APIs, polling, WebSockets or similar technologies where appropriate.
• Implement Microsoft Entra ID authentication integration, including validation of access tokens and handling authentication errors.
• Implement secure role-based and scope-based authorization for users, plants, production lines and machines.
• Design and maintain database schemas, queries and data access layers.
• Implement caching strategies to improve application responsiveness and reduce database load.
• Integrate push notification workflows using APNs and FCM.
• Handle event processing reliability, duplicate messages, retry mechanisms, logging and exception handling.
• Deploy, configure, monitor and troubleshoot backend services on Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate with mobile developers and QA engineers on API contracts, integrations and issue resolution.
Required Technical Skills-
• Strong experience in backend development using a modern framework such as Python or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and deploying production backend applications.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, API versioning, validation and error handling.
• Experience with Azure application hosting services such as Azure Container Apps or Azure App Service.
• Experience working with relational databases such as Azure SQL / SQL Server.
• Azure Cache for Redis or comparable distributed caching.

CLIENT PROJECT / RESOURCE REQUIREMENTS
• Experience implementing role-based access control (RBAC), permissions and resource-level authorization.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, background workers and service-to-service communication.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, message processing and real-time communication concepts.
• Experience with Git, automated builds and deployment practices.
• Strong debugging, performance optimization and production troubleshooting skills.
Good to Have-
• MQTT protocol, MQTT broker integration and IoT event processing.
• WebSockets, SignalR or other real-time messaging technologies.
• Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Azure API Management and Azure Service Bus.
• Push notification integration using FCM and APNs.
• Familiarity with industrial automation, Ignition SCADA, MES, OEE or IoT platforms.
• Experience with Docker, containers and Azure CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of secure API design, rate limiting, observability and distributed systems.
